  • This episode was not so good.

It was defiantly not anywhere near as good as the previous few episodes but it is still very good. Again Chiana causes problems when she buys some slave girl who is actually a giant spider. So before long the spider begins to infect people with some strange illness and the crew only have a few hours before they will die. I still thought this was a good episode but it felt like somewhat of a filler episode. Nonetheless i still enjoyed it and the story kept me guessing until the end. Now that e are getting towards the end of the show its getting sad because soon i know that there will not be any episodes left...moreless
  • It looks great, it is great. Wonderful

Been here before. Alien gets on Moya, messes with people’s brains and then gets blown away. Wouldn’t it be nice if just for once it was someone other than Crichton who plugged the ugly? I understand now why the SciFi Channel say this is so expensive to make. There is nothing in it that isn’t done beautifully. Just look at that spider - as convincing as anything done anywhere else on big or small screen. And it blew up rather nicely as well. But all of this just acts as a backdrop to the continuing superb performances by the cast. Required to turn their characters inside out, they do so in an utterly convincing way. They are not just playing another character, but their character having a character change. And finally John & Aeryn resolve the will they/won’t they plot again but retain the tension through the worry about Scorpius. The consummation of these type of plot lines normally signals the end for a TV series, but Farscape has done it once and got away with it, and looks like they are going to do it again.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • D'Argo: You brought the Vorc on board.

This refers to the season 2 episode "Beware of Dog", in which a creature Chiana brings aboard Moya causes problems. The Vorc, however, does go on to aid those aboard Moya against a true threat.

    • Crichton: You think Talikaa is doing a T'raltixx?

This refers to season 2's episode "Crackers Don't Matter", in which the alien T'raltixx comes aboard Moya and negatively affects the behavior of the entire crew.

    • Crichton reveals that Scorpius' reason for being on board is to find out how he can get to Crichton. Aeryn is his key, and Crichton says he's been using the drug and been abrasive towards her to throw him off the track, so Scorpius won't use Aeryn or her baby to get to Crichton.

    • Crichton reveals what everyone has probably suspected all along- that Aeryn won the coin toss at the end of "Dog with Two Bones".

    • This episode further strengthens the possibility that Chiana is actually bisexual.

  • QUOTES (12)

    • Chiana: (after kicking D'Argo in the mivonks to test his reactions) Still not angry?
D'Argo: (calmly, though in obvious pain) No, I'm not. I should be... but I'm not.

    • Talikaa: Do you want me to kill you?
Crichton: Yes, please. Fast, slow, lady's choice.
      Talikaa: I like it slow.
Crichton: (collapsing) Oh God, I was afraid you were gonna say that! Bring it on.

    • Crichton: (to Aeryn) You know what the worst part of this is? You and me. We never could get it together, and now we never will.

    • Crichton: I was taking that crap from Noranti to forget you. Which you gotta admit is kind of romantic. I'm just crazy about you.
      Aeryn: So it's my fault?
      Crichton: What? No!

    • Crichton: Aeryn, do not walk away! Much as I love it when you walk away... Aeryn!

    • Talikaa: (coming on to Chiana) You like sexy?
Chiana: Yeah. It's my favorite color.

    • D'Argo: What are you doing here? I told you to stay in Chiana's quarters.
Talikaa: I don't have to listen to you. No one else does. Nobody listens to you. They listen to Crichton, but not to you.

    • Aeryn: There's nothing to say.
Crichton: The hell there's not. You hit me!
      Aeryn: You lied to me.
Crichton: Hey, you lied to me. You said nothing was bothering you. Okay, so I did not tell you about the poppers. You did not tell me about the baby. Does that mean I get to hit you now?
Aeryn: I would not advise that.
Crichton: (smiling) Oh, you do not scare me, missy. (Crichton jumps up onto a work bench next to Aeryn. Aeryn gives him a murderous look. Crichton jumps down again quickly) Okay, you scare me a little...

    • Crichton: I know you can see me. Bad guys always see me. My plans suck. People die, it's always a mess.

    • Chiana: No... No tingle. No... No nothing. That tralk has... has taken away my sex drive.

    • Scorpius: (to Sikozu, whose arm and leg is torn off) I will kill your attacker. I promise.

    • Crichton: (to Pilot) You can do it, man. You're smart enough, you're good enough, and doggone it people like you.
Pilot: Are you all right, Crichton?

  • NOTES (1)

    • Kate Woods watched over 30 episodes of Farscape in order to prepare herself for directing this, since it was her first of the series.

    • Crichton: Along came a spider. Exploded beside her.

This is a reference to the nursery rhyme Little Miss Muffet.

    • Crichton: You can do it, man. You're smart enough, you're good enough, and doggone it, people like you!

This is a reference to the Saturday Night Live skit featuring the character Stuart Smalley. He repeats the same lines to himself throughout the skit.

    • Crichton: You're the key. My Achilles. You. If he figures that out, the world and all that's in it is nothing. He will use you and the baby. And I won't be able to stop him.

Crichton is referring to Aeryn as his "Achilles Heel", his one fatal weakness. In Greek mythology Achilles was a warrior who was invulnerable except for his heel. His mother, the Goddess Thetis, had dipped Achilles in the Styx river to make him invulnerable, but she held onto him by his heel and it was not reached by the water. He was slain at Troy when Paris shot him in the heel with an arrow.
