  • The first double episode this season.

So finally in this episode we are reunited with Jool and D'Argo and even the old woman. But still no Aeryn or Moya. I am beginning to miss them. Anyway in this episode we find out that Jool and D'Argo have been working on a dig site and have been uncovering old remains for a long time ago. We also find out that it appears that the people of this world lived in peace with everyone and Crichton finds evidence that earth may have been part of this. I didn't really like the old women, but i was really intrested in Geayza's plans and what she has done to Scorpius, i hope the second part is as good. This show is doing so well. I am totally addicted.moreless
  • Crichton and co. arrive on a Planet where Jool and D'Argo are doing research...

First of all, forgive me if I mix up things a bit between the two parts of this two-part episode...

So, finally Jool and D'Argo are back in season 4, still no sign from Moya or Aeryn though!

Crichton, Rygel, Chiana and Sikozu find Jool, D'Argo and the Old Woman of the end of season 3 on a planet where they are doing some research about three probes that changed the planet's magnetic field!

In the same time, Braca and and Grayza have overthrown Scorpius' command! When did that happen by the way? I can not recall having seen the scenes between them of the recap of the past episode in any previous episode! Very confusing!

Scorpius is completely controlled by them and treated like a dog! I liked his character a lot and I don't like the way they treat such a worthy opponent!

Well, the Peacekeepers come to the planet and take control over the situation!

    To be continued...

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (9)

    • In the opening recap for the past episodes, scenes are shown that feature Braca betraying Scorpius to Grayza. These scenes were meant to be in the last episode "Crichton Kicks" but got cut, so this recap is the only time they are ever shown on-screen.

    • Jool must be excited during this entire episode- her hair, which is normally rather orange, remains red, the color it becomes when she's agitated. In fact, for all of the rest of her appearances in Season four and the miniseries, it remained red, rather than change to reflect her mood.

    • This is the only time that Noranti claims to " hear voices" that tell her to act, so perhaps she really was hearing the voices of the lost priests.

    • D'Argo has named his ship Lo'la, in honor of his deceased wife Lo'Laan. It's also revealed that his ship can become invisible well enough to fool Peacekeeper sensors.

    • The Egyptian symbol Crichton recognizes on the child's tile is the Eye of Horus, which is associated with regeneration, health and prosperity.

    • When the Old Woman shows Crichton visions of the priests, and later when she hears their voices in her head, they can be heard chanting. The chant is the same tune used for the "vocal" chant part of the current theme music.

    • With Scorpius no longer having a ship to command, he has fallen from his high position in Peacekeeper ranks and his second, Braca, has switched to Commandant Grayza's allegiance and been promoted to Captain.

    • Commandant Grayza has the ability to use fluid from her body to bring people under her control, effectively making them want her sexually. Her eyes also seem to play a part in this effect, which she has used on both Braca and Crichton.

    • D'Argo has spent much time with Jool on Arnessk, along with the Old Woman (Noranti). Pilot and Moya left them there to go and search for Aeryn, who has not had any contact with the crew since she left. She apparently knows what happened to Moya when she was swallowed by the wormhole, but refuses to tell Crichton, although she did tell Pilot.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Grayza: (with Scorpius on a leash, kissing her boot) Do anything you like to him, anything at all.
Crichton: No thanks, I don't think I could come up with something better than that.

    • Jool: (pleading for his understanding) D'Argo, you can't blame Vella if she thinks she's smarter than you.
D'Argo: No, but I can blame you.
Jool: I never believed any of you cared what I thought.
D'Argo: I care. And just so you know, if someone had criticized you or insulted you, called you a stuck up, arrogant little princess, I'd have defended you.

    • D'Argo: (after Vella tells Jool Luxans are intellectually inferior) Why didn't you stand up for me?
Jool: D'Argo, most Interions Luxans are inferior, that's just the way it is.
      D'Argo: What do you think?
      Jool: Don't ask me that.
      D'Argo: What do you think?!
Jool: (crying) I think that you are unusual for a Luxan.
D'Argo: (bitterly) Yeah, yeah, I am that.

    • Jool: (when Tarnat continues to threaten Chiana and Crichton) Tarnat, just put it back in your pants and calm down!

    • Noranti: Ask Vella, if all the priests died here, why are there no bones? (pauses, looks puzzled) Why are there no bones?

    • Vella: Three of these probes which formed the Darnaz Triangle were launched by enemies of peace. They created magnetic summers that killed the priests and drove civilization away. You understanding any of this?
Crichton: (in a simple yokel accent) Well, I missed a couple of the big words, so maybe I should just... (He makes a walking motion with his fingers)

    • (Talking to Jool about Chiana and Crichton)
Tarnat: Who is this Peacekeeper? Why is he with the tralk?
      (Crichton and Chiana object simultaneously)
      Crichton: She's not a tralk.
      Chiana: He's not a Peacekeeper.

    • Grayza: Remember me?
Crichton: Oh yeah, I remember a couple of things.

  • NOTES (4)

    • It was Wayne Pygram's suggestion to the episode's director Rowan Woods that Scorpius should be led around on the dog leash, which provided a great visual to emphasize his character's dramatic change in status.

    • Oo-nii was played by Steve Le Marquand, who was Ben Browder's regular stunt double. Some of his lines had to be redubbed in ADR to cover his strong native Australian accent.

    • The story for this two part story arc was originally conceived as the finale for Season three.

    • Claudia Black is credited but does not appear. Lani Tupu is listed in the closing credits as voicing Pilot, but Pilot does not take part in this episode, either.
