Irish comic Pauline McLynn will be among the cast of Channel 4's multi award-winning drama when it returns to our screens later this year.
Filming has already begun on the show's seventh series, which welcomes newcomers McLynn and former Grange Hill actress Valerie Lilley as it continues to follow the feckless residents of Manchester's fictional Chatsworth Estate.
The entrance of McLynn's character, a local librarian called Libby, attracts one man's eyes in particular--hapless father Frank Gallagher. Gallagher, who has been unlucky in love throughout the show's six-year run, is inspired my his new love, that is, until he meets her mum Patty, played by Lilley.
