  • A good kick up the Arse

This was one of the most hilarious episodes ever. The storyline was hilarious I was laughing from beginning to end. How Ted achieved the feat was nothing short of brilliance from this series. A great episode to near the end of the series. I can watch this over and over again and never stop laughing. The end of the episode is by far the best bits of the epiosde where the bishop returns yelling. Probably my favourite epiosde of the series. Father Ted and Dougal are absolutely hilarious, the 10x10 photo gag was priceless. A great end to a continued episode.moreless

  • Following the last episode. Father Ted's worst nightmare is coming to visit Bishop Bernnan.

This episode is brilliant full of humour. You have to feel sorry for Father Ted because he almost gets away with kicing Bishop Bernnan up the arse but forgetting been drunk the night before he asked Father Dougal for 200 copies of the photographs for his friends and a massive 10 by 10 photo but Dougal leaves this right outside the house where Bishop Bernnan can see it. Bishop Bernnan goes mad, Father Ted runs falls over and Bishop Bernnan send him going sky high. Ouch! thats got to hurt.

This is cleverly written and very funny and this has got to be the overall best episode ever!moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • When Bishop Brennan and Father Jessup arrives they don't have suitcases. However, when the bishop leaves he has one.

    • For a small island how many photo shops open really early in the morning? It didn't take long for a 10 by 10 photograph to be developed!

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Mrs. Doyle: Your Grace. Father Crilly, I've just heard they've taken the roads in!
Bishop Brennan: They've taken the roads in?
Father Ted: Yes, when the weather is bad they store them in a warehouse on the East side of the island.
Bishop Brennan: What?! I have to be in rome tomorrow, for an audience with the Holy Father!
Father Dougal: Don't worry Len, they repeat those shows all the time.
Father Ted: They'll have the roads back out by tomorrow.
Bishop Brennan: So essentially, we have to spend the night???
      Father Ted: Well, Yes.......
Bishop Brennan: (looking extremely depressed at this news) Oh bollocks.

    • Bishop Brennan: Ah, The Kraken awakes. Did you have a good sleep, Father?
      Father Jack: Arsebiscuits!
Father Jessup: What? How dare you speak to His Grace like that like that! Apologise immediately!
Father Jack: (in a high pitched voice) I'm soooo, soooo, sorry!
      (Father Jack twitches his teeth)
      Father Ted: Now that's sarcasm.

    • Dougal: Hello, Len.
Bishop Brennan: Don't call me Len, you little prick. I'm a bishop!
      Dougal: Oh right. Well done.

    • Bishop Brennan: (comes face to face with the Pope) He DID kick me up the arse!

  • NOTES (2)

    • Bishop Brennan: The Kraken awakes.

A reference to Tennyson's poem, where the creature is described as sleeping until something disturbs it's environment, whereupon, the Kraken attacks the disturber. Not unlike Father Jack.

    • Dougal: An audience with Lily Savage that as good as well.
An audience with... is a program started in 1978 with Jasper Carrot and has continued to the present day with a number of major and minor celebrities having 1 hour of television devoted to them entertaining us.
