NBC (ended 2008)
|I want to like this show so badly. The original "Masters of Horror" on Showtime is one of my guilty pleasures. Other than the episode last week, this show just isn't doing it for me.|
Lame, predictable and plot had more holes then sieve. I figured out she was the killer within minutes. First note says "person" not "guy" or "man". Second one of her bridesmaids says "all your wrong boyfriends disappeared" (or soemthing like that). Third there is priest with hearing problem and a bit confused way how note came to Sam. Fourth, not so obvious, is how Sam keeps seeing things (skull at ceremony, "serial killer" dance around). Fifth she goes on with ceremony.
and I find whole portrait of ceremony a bit weird. after the ceremony Sam is left alone in dressing room while guests go to the party. then she goes there by herself much alter while Carlos disappears somewhere. Odd.
Camera work was good though, but that doesn't do much for otherwise lousy episode.
I was hoping that after episode 3 (which I loved) this show will pick up and actually start to air good episodes but unfortunatly no.
first off, yes I agree this episode was not the best, did not make sense, was a cliche plot which they just tried too hard to not type-cast, only ending in making way too many plot holes... but lets look at this show... it is one which leaves you with that" WTF" flavor in your mouth as the strings are not all pulled together in a perfect little ribbon.
She probably had some kind of disorder, cliche example: schrizophrenia, which ment that she would not know her actions on a regular basis. This other personality would then take over when she sould kill carlos.
I wasn't sure if the brother was a serial killer also but I guessed that the bride was the killer referred to in the note. I was somewhat surprised that the brother was the person who delivered the note. The bridesmaids said that the bride always picked the wrong guys and they were never heard from again. Serial killer, perhaps?
That church was really spooky and what's with the reception outside when it was obviously cold weather. Great line from the show: the bridesmaids to the bride: "Do you need to go to the bathroom before we strap you in?"
I don't think the brother and sister were a serial-killing team. Obviously the brother didn't want Sam to marry Carlos, so if he was a killer he would have murdered Carlos, not sent him a little note. The only way I can explain Carlos staying alive is if Sam is the only killer, but decided that he wasn't one of the "wrong guys" and chose to marry him. Some people break up, Sam kills!
Still doesn't explain why the note scared her, though.
Looking forward to the new season of Psych...
First of all, this episode doesn't belong in a show about fear because it wasn't scary, well no episodes were scary yet, but at least the others had somewhat scary stories while this one was just horrible.
The whole thing just felt like a bad scary movie, like the way the letters "serial killer" came out of the paper, or how when she read the note we had that whole "zooming in face and scary music" thing that had been done before.
The story looks like it was written by dozens of different people since it doesn't fit together. As many have mentioned there are some things that don't make sense, like why was Carlos scaring her in the church if he wanted to talk to her... he could've just tried to calm her down... what was up with the brother's house, the details of the pictures they showed us added nothing to the story either, so that whole scene could've been summed up in him listening to the message and taking the thing off his head... plus why was he scared that she was home if they were a tag team then?
Most of all, the characters are just horribly made... Both main characters change personalities during the last scene, it makes NO sense at all.
The best thing about the last 3 episodes were the endings so I was thinking this ending would save the movie, but it was just bad bad bad... she JUST figured out she was a serial killer? what the hell?
I hope the next episodes are better.
