AIRED: is on a Scottish grousemoor with a piper and a team of guns. Plus it is talking to keepers and sporting agents about the season ahead. • The white roebuck: has footage of the white roebuck of Dumfriesshire. • Star in a reasonably-priced highseat: We join Sporting Rifle editor Peter Carr in South Yorkshire • Salmon Grand National: launch of the biggest and most important race ever. The G&WCT is radio-tagging 10,000 salmon at its new research station on the River Frome. Each one costs £30 to tag so the GCT needs £300,000. But for the first time the tag is able to record when the smolt goes out to sea, when it comes back and how big it is. It's a race with 10,000 runners and riders. The fish will return in 2011 and the biggest fish to return will win its "owner" a significant prize. In the meantime, owners will be able to watch the comings and goings of their fish on the GCT website and via regular updates on Go on - have a flutter on a fish. • Canal Game Farm: it's June and the birds are growing up • Goshawk diary: Roy Lupton has bred two unique birds • Sage words: gamekeeper Mick Sage on what to do at this time of year • Pigeon shooting and cooking with Mark Gilchristmoreless
