Brazil, a favorite and my pick to win this whole thing, struggled to defeat the People's Republic of Korea, a country that has been absent from the World Cup for over 40 years. Brazilians are meant to play soccer and they struggled to defeat the Koreans.

Brazil is a true team effort and I think that can be the downfall of a squad from time to time. Without having a true superstar, a really captain who can lead you, when the opposition is having a strong effort it can be a truly difficult event trying to get the w in that scenario.moreless

    • Korea DPR Coach Km Jong-Hun: The fact that my players scored a goal against a strong team like Brazil gives me a lot of pleasure. We didn't win but we gained valuable experience. We're going to be more confident ... Throughout the match the players followed our gameplan and defended well. We were very well prepared and we got some good shots in on goal. I think we fought bravely and with a little bit of luck we could even have got a better result.

    • Brazil Right-Back and Man of the Match Maicon: There's no better feeling than this. When you work hard, you get your rewards. Chances like this don't come along very often and that's what I've found throughout my career. I think we've made a good start. We know that it's going to be tough, and a real battle, but it's always important to make a winning start. We want to carry on in the same vein.

    • Brazil Coach Dunga: Every team has to play efficiently, in attack and in defense. Overall we played well, especially in the second half, because in the first half we didn't get our game together and didn't manage to pass the ball quickly. ... At the end of the day we're not satisfied with how the game went and we want to do better.
