Well, so much for African teams in this World Cup. The home continent for this tournament just is not doing very well and it really is a shame as you hoped for a few feel good stories in this cup, and South Africa and Cameroon were among the teams people thought could do that. I do not know why the Netherlands is doing so well, people have been talking about them, but they are into the round of 16, and that is as far as they will go in my opinion.

Let's start the next round already, just one more day to go!moreless

    • Netherlands Coach Bert van Marwijk: Winning three times in a row at a World Cup obviously looks good at first sight, but I'm not really satisfied with our performance today. It was good enough in the first half, but we started very poorly after half-time. We spent too much time on the back foot and gave Cameroon far too much space. We were more in control in the other group games, but we could easily have lost today.

    • Cameroon Coach Paul Le Guen: It's not like we waited until the second half this evening to start playing decent football. I think we played some good football in our previous matches too but we weren't able to come up with enough to beat the Netherlands today. They're stronger than us. We've given it our best shot, we've stood up to them and tried to beat them, but it wasn't enough, especially towards the end. Our record of three defeats is a crushing blow.

    • Netherlands Forward Arjen Robben: I'm delighted to be back. The important thing for me now is to recover my rhythm. I'm not yet 100 per cent fit, but I'm really pleased to be part of it. That's the reward for my efforts. In qualifying and now in the group stage, Slovakia have showed they deserve to be taken seriously. There are no smaller nations any more, so we'll have to focus hard on our preparations.
