The Dutch are ranked #4 in the world, so this isn't by any means a monumental upset. For me, how it happened is. Brazil was so dominant in the first half and were unlucky to only be up 1-0.
I don't what happened a halftime, but a different team emerged after the break. The second half team looked all too much like the 1998 World Cup Final team that lost the championship game 3-0 to the home standing French. That team had the great Ronaldo, who is still the all-time goal scoring leader at World Cup Finals, but the French just picked them apart that day. It's as if the team had no spirit and the game was over before it started. The second half today looked much like that and it's utterly mystifying after that amazing first half display.
The Dutch should have a way clear to the Final now regardless of who they have to play.
