It's the third and final game for these two squads, and for some reason aired at the exact same time as Greece vs. Argentina. In fact ESPN actually plugged how the two games had the same start time. Why? You were just dividing viewers between ESPN and ESPN2. Poor scheduling, no other way to describe.

This was a fairly forgettable game though. It continued the streak of the winners of this World Cup being: no one. Nigeria and South Korea had forgettable world cups, so I suppose this is poetic justice for them to go out on a forgettable game.moreless

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Korea Republic Coach Huh Jung-Moo: I knew it would be difficult if we conceded an early goal, but the players reacted very well. And the penalty made it more difficult for us mentally as well. Asian football is on the up. But there's still a gap between us and the rest of the world, and we need to work harder to close the gap.

    • Nigeria Coach Lars Lagerback: Mostly I feel disappointed and sad. It's the results that count so there is not much to say, I can only congratulate the South Koreans. I'm very disappointed. We went down fighting. I think they players did really well today. They showed a big heart for Nigeria and I think we deserved to win. I think we deserved much better but that's how it is in football sometimes. The players gave their all in all three matches.

    • Korea Republic Midfielder and Man of the Match Park Ji-Sung: I recognize how difficult it is to reach the Round of 16, and I could see how much Korean football has progressed to see the team overcoming the pressure. Now that we've reached our first goal, we'll be preparing for the next goal and another win.
