Another match, another draw. This time no team even scored. You would have thought this was an easy win for France, but they could not even get one ball in between the pipes.

This was a little bit more entertaining than the last game, but not by much. The World Cup has the entire world excited, but so far the games have not really delivered, and I have laughed at people who have called these games "instant classics" on media outlets.

Argentina, US and England ply on Saturday, so hopefully they can get the ball rolling....and into the goal very soon.moreless

    • Uruguay Coach Óscar Tabárez: It was a hard match and we expected that. We're more or less content with the result but not with our play. We didn't have enough of the ball. (Franck) Ribery played very well and (Abou) Diaby brought lots of balance. He was very effective in the center of the park and changed the midfield in a way. I don't want to say that France deserved to win, though, as we kept them quiet in front of our goal.

    • Uruguay Forward and Man of the Match Diego Forlán: We never understood how to approach this match. We had a few good chances but we were often guilty of wasting our final ball. It's a shame. I thought the match was quite even.

    • French Coach Raymond Domenech: It's frustrating when it goes like that, when we push and push and say to ourselves, 'It has to go in'. But we were also saying to ourselves, 'Let's hope we don't suffer an unlucky counter-attack' because that would have been very disappointing, given the level we played at in this match. It was very irritating but the players who came on nonetheless made things happen with those already out there and they imposed a certain rhythm. It's a shame. I was going to say it was almost a great 0-0, but I would have preferred a bad 1-0. Our opponents were solid, as you'll see in the coming matches. We succeeded in stopping them from building almost any moves. As a team, were performed very well.
