Episode Summary

The heat is on from Student Council Representative Peabody to get illegal term papers off the street, but the perps always seem one step ahead of the Safety Patrol. After a botched raid and the sabotage of his bike, Fillmore turns to Sonny Lombard, his old partner from his bad-boy days. They track the papers back to Rudy Teravall, the Kingpin of Home Economics, but just as Fillmore and Ingrid get ready to move in on Rudy's gang, Peabody gets tipped off about bootleg hall passes in Fillmore's desk. I think it's great that Cornelius Fillmore actually has a past. Often, in other cartoon shows, The past of the character, the relatives of the character, and the course of the character's life is never even hinted at.

Sunny's one of Fillmore's old buds, from before he crosses over to the side of justice... if that doesn't sound to corny. But of course, Sunny's not only still in trouble with the law, but he's willing to play all the stops.

Fillmore also faces a bit of peer pressure to break the law in order to get back on the right side of the law, by breaking in and stealing what he thinks is proof of his innocence. This is similar to Ingrid's temptation to go along with the red robins, because she felt they were her friends.

What really impressed me, though, was the 'clue' that led Fillmore to discover Sunny's double dealings. [Spoiler!!]
You don't even realise it till afterwards... Fillmore takes out the Phone sunny gives him and presses the button... one button/dial tone is heard, meaning he pressed redial. the redial leads him to peabody's office, but you really think he's calling that to see if he'll give them a search warrant.

That's what really, really impressed me in this episode, which is why I believe it's one of the best episodes of the show. It combines several elements; Peer pressure, stress, and where one's faith lies. I think that this episode was handled well.
