In their continuing quest to run the channel into the ground by removing anything even remotely involving actual videogames from their schedule and replace it with garbage like The Man Show and Fastlane, G4 has cancelled Filter (and G4TV.com). The last new episode airs December 26th.

Goodbye Diane Mizota! We'll all miss the sexiest smile in the world and your deliciously smutty comments! As for John Walsh? Good riddance, loser.

Any news on what the new shows that will replace it are going to be?

Found out that G4 is trying to get the rights for Star Trek now. Looks to be the Original Series and Next Gen - TNG currently is rerun on Spike along with DS-9. Don't know who is running TOS right now. Looks like they will be attempting yet another make-over to get that ever popular male demographic and try to beat Spike. Rumor has it that there may even be a network name change (again).

Well that isn't good. Replacing current event shows with one that is easily obtainable in DVD format. At risk of being flamed (I'm just being serious, not coy)..., don't all Trekkies/Trekkers own most of the boxed season sets anyway? Why watch something old?

I understand how the channel is trying to get by by appealing to more people, but it is only a matter of time before G4 is dead.

They try to get people who aren't Trekkies to be Trekkies.
