AIRED:
Debbie Boyle's son was hit by a hit and run driver. He is in a coma for many days. Debbie began to do some investigating to find the hit and run driver - which she eventually did. The law in Colorado meant that the driver would not spend much time in jail (hit and run was just a misdeamenor). Debbie set out to change the law. After time she made hit and run driving a felony (Boyle's Law). Gabe Boyle, Debbie's son, eventually came out of the coma and is back living life to the fullest. Rhea Harvey's husband, Steve, was beat and killed because he was black. She set out to convict the killer. She searched through law books to find a law to convict the killer with. Rhea used the system and made it work for her - she got the killer convicted. An older woman, Jane Alexander, is scammed by a friend of the family. Everyone liked the man, Tom O'Donnell. Soon Tom moved in with Jane. Tom took over the household finances. After Tom spent all the Jane's money and put her in debt. Now with Jane completely broke, Tom O'Donnell just vanished. Ten months previously, Jane's aunt was murdered. Since Jane was to get all the money from her aunt's estate, Tom and Jane became suspects in the murder. Then, Tom vanished. Jane was enraged that Tom would murder her dearest relative and left her broke. If the police could find Tom, they could charge him with fraud. So Jane set out to find him, which she did. Tom got the maximum sentence, 4 years, and was released after 18 months. Jane was on a mission to put him in jail for good. Jane fought to keep open an investigation to convict Tom of her aunt's murder. After nearly three years she hit paydirt. After nearly 13 years, Tom was convicted of second degree murder.
