Veteran character actor and former professor William Fawcett has a rare starring role as "Jed McNabb," a prospector who is reluctant to give up his diggings despite the Army's use of the desert for target practice. His lifelong desire to stand true to himself and to his values, despite the occasional disapproval of others, causes friction between Jed and his ambitious grandson, his old friend (now in command of the Army base), and the widow (Mira McKinney) he hopes to marry. This is a wonderful character study - and Fawcett was a fine actor who made it all work.moreless
