  • First Monday is being rerun in HD on UHD beginning Friday April 2, 2010.

This was one of those shows that addressed complex controversial issues and had an expensive cast. CBS put it in a time slot to justify it cost, but alas it was a killer time slot economically.

It was well written, acted and directed. You couldn't find a cast with more acting talent led by seasoned actors Joe Mantegna, James Garner, and Charles Durning, but including Joe Flanigan (Stargate Atlantis) and a large number of familiar supporting actors. The issues addressed are likely to stir the political in you while it makes you think.

If you didn't see it, you should and UHD gives you that opportunity.
  • First Monday was a well written show about the workings of the highest court in the land. It had great characters and the chemistry between them felt real. CBS didn't give this great show the time it deserved on the air.

First Monday joined the few shows that tried to bring us inside the federal government and show us the inner working. The show had an excellent and all star cast that had on screen chemistry that worked and felt real. The acting was very believable and you could believe that these were real people. It was unfortunate that CBS didn't give this show enough time to prove itself and a better time slot so people could watch it. Another strike aganist the show is that the Supreme Court doesn't have the exciting tensiion that decision on shows like the West Wing have. In the case of First Monday it dove into some of the biggest cases that were being decide that day and attempted to explain them to the average American. It was a true shock when this show was cancelled and TV lost a true gem. Lets all have a moment of silence for great television that has been killed off by cheap reality television.
