  • This show was definitely better as a 1950's black and white serial in the movie theaters.

    3.0
I decided that the first episode has promise and watched the second. I found that the whole premise belongs in comic books and as something to watch in the original black and white rather than what they are doing now.

I will still rate it higher than Pirate Master, so this is not the worst show on TV this year but close.

The only scenes that were better than the original was the oil bathing and the grunting to get out of the binding that sounded and when they got free left nothing to the imagination that it was like having sex.moreless
  • Will the SciFi refund me cost of electricity I wasted to watch this show?

    1.8
Will the SciFi refund me cost of electricity I wasted to watch this show? Everything on this show is weak, acting, dressing, make-up (look at Tyrus - let's say 10 years in prison and he still looks like not shaved Ken (Barbie is on the tree in the park I suppose). I hope that SciFi will end this show asap. They cancelled a few better shows like Flash Gordon such as Farscape or Dresden Files. Anyway: I thought Painkiller Jane was a crap but this is just awful. I'm an optimist and don't think that we will be able to watch initial 22 episodes of this so-alled Flash Gordon.moreless
  • While episode two is better than the pilot the series has a long way to go to make it good.

    5.0
Episode 2 has come and thankfully gone. I'm hoping that the episode after the pilot are going to get better as they go along and while this episode is better that the pilot it isn't better by much. Flash is growing on me a little more, Zarkov still looks like pedophile and while the women in the show are definitely easy to look at the designs of the close look stupid. They look like they are trying to shove Mad Max clothing into the future and it doesn't work. Also, I know they don't have a huge budget for this series but when they are executing someone it should at least look painful. How stupid did that look? What about the guy Ming sent through the riff to bring back his bounty hunter? Boy, uh, was that guy, uh, scary or what? Yeah, not really. I hope the writers are saving the best for last otherwise this show might not make it back for next season.moreless
  • Campiness is not next to crappola

    8.0
Well I know that alot of people aren't giving this show very good reviews. However, while I find it a bit campy at times, I think it's a lot of fun. This was a very colorful episode, Baylin is fun to watch with her odd jerky ways and her ignorance of Earth idioms. In addition, Zarkov's twitchiness and paranoia is a stark contrast to Flash's annoyance at being pulled into the whole situation. I have to say ... I'm not a big fan of Dale. I think the character needs to be reworked a little bit. Soften up in some areas and toughen up in others. I hope we'll see that happen in the near future. I think the writers are trying to get their legs under them on this one, so I'm definately going to keep watching. It'll be interesting to see how the characters grow.moreless
  • it was fun

    9.0
Baylin is trapped on Earth with no way for her to get back home. Ming sends another bounty hunter to fetch her. This bounty hunter is an uncontrollable caveman who wants to get Baylin back no matter what it takes. Tyrus ends up hurting humans who dare stand in his way. this gives an opportunity for baylin to get back to mingo, but it creates new problems for flash and his friends. this episode looks pretty good, the story maintains the comedic theme of the show and never gets too serious. it's fun to watch, the chase looks really exciting. it's a good episode.moreless
