Flash, Zarkov and Baylin go to Mongo to find their missing rift blaster. When they arrive at Mongo, they get entangled with another domestic crisis happening on the planet. Flash takes a deviate baby away from nascent city. Joe's mind implant is activated. Flash takes Aura to meet a deviate leader and something very interesting comes out of it. This episode goes by quickly, it was as funny as always. It doesn't get too serious, somehow the pacing was handled well. The writers did a pretty good episode, I had fun watching this. It ends with a cliffhanger, it'll be interesting to watch this play out in future episodes.moreless

A pretty decent episode this weeks outing rising Flash about horrible to likeable scifi cheese. Never coming near greatness but like Andromeda or a mediocre episode of one of the Stargates the episode had it's charm. Good humor with the gang trying to hide a baby sentenced to death by Zarkov pretending to cry due to mental defect. More revelation on the people of Mongo this time a group of outcast who are to be killed on sight in the name of Eugenics. This leads to us hating Ming more since the leader of this group is his son thrown away by Ming. Back to the oddly good comedy aspect of the show Aura and he were about to jump on each other when Flash brought out this secret. Sadly Joe was back since he has a mind control device in his head which Mings side used to steal the Imax which will have big results in upcoming episodes. The show may have a chance at being mildly entertaining this episode showed promise of that.moreless
  • The seeds of rebellion may be set here.

    "Superb"
After a long wait, we get another good solid installment of this series. To know that one of the city's outcasts is her brother might drive princess Aura to overthrown her father (with the help of Barin) as foretold in the comics strips.

This ep (judging also by a revamped opening credits) is yet another refreshment of this imaginary new series, and never I've been captivated by new ideas as the ones that are shown thus far in a series that borders sci-fi and adventure. It's like seeing a live-action comic-strip for the first time. I may be exaggerating, but one may keep in mind that the story was invented as pulp fiction in the early 30's. For that reason, the out-of-bounds imagination is just welcomed. Can't wait for Flash's trip to Frigia and the other regions on Mongo :)moreless

    • Terek: Come, brothers and sisters. Come and greet our guests. And let us rejoice. For this day, a new son is delivered to us! On my life, I swear that by the time this child comes of age, he will walk proud, his head held high. And he shall receive the full provision of rights and freedoms offered to all denizens of Mongo. He will not be cast out or spit upon or made to cover himself from others. He will take his seat at the table and he will demand his share and he will receive what is rightfully his. A new day is upon us. Be proud of who you are. Proud to call yourselves Deviates. Soon, all will see your beauty. All will feel your strength. All will know your power.

    • Flash: (carrying a baby that was meant to be purged) But why kill them? That's sick.
Baylin: With each generation, the deviations grow more severe. Purging ensures this population is uncontaminated.
Zarkov: So only the genetically healthy are allowed to breed. Cruel but logical.

    • Terek: The only thing that could change Ming is death.

    • Zarkov: I must be nuts. I'm willingly going back to Mongo.
Flash: Buddy,I thought you said we didn't have a choice.
Zarkov: We don't. We have to get back that rift blaster that Joe lost. If Rankol finds it, he'll know that it's been altered. We don't want him to figure out thatwe have the Imex.
Flash: Plus, if anyone or anything finds the rift blaster, anyone or anything could come through a rift to Kendall.
      Zarkov: Oooh.
Baylin: And we do not want Zurn warriors or henja beasts running down Main Street.

    • Baylin: (after dispatching a Patriot in Rankol's lab) You may stand now. Our entry was successful. Zarkov: (awkwardly hunched over) Eh... I'm gonna stay low, just in case.

    • Ming: As a ruler, I've had to make many sacrifices. Some political, some personal. They were not pleasant, but they were necessary. I don't expect you to understand. Aura: Oh, but I do. I understand you now better than ever.

    • Zarkov: (runs into Flash as he makes his escape from the dungeon) You, Flash! Flash: Very good. Me Flash, she Baylin, and we... are getting the hell out of here.
