After Agent Vreede brings Gabriel his lunch, Vreede and Oliva are seen discussing Gabriel's condition, while in the background Gabriel is seen between them taking the wrapper completely off his food. The scene then cuts directly to Gabriel who is now holding a fully wrapped lunch again. He starts to unwrap it again and then pauses with it still partially wrapped, as he listens to Vreede and Olivia talk. The scene cuts back to Vreede and Olivia, and Gabriel is again seen between them, now holding the unwrapped food in his hands. He pulls the food up to his mouth to take a bite, as Vreede asks Olivia if he can question Gabriel. Vreede turns back to talk to Gabriel, who is now seen unwrapping his lunch yet again.

While rat poison is lethal to humans, it does not have the near-instantaneous effects shown here: drinking a cup of coffee and dropping dead an hour or so later. Rat poison is specifically designed to take time to occur (so that rats don't realize their food is poisoned), and a human would take days to die from it while suffering from a variety of obvious, painful symptoms.
Lloyd: God, I hope it all works.
Simon: We're simulating the Big Bang. What could go wrong?
Myhill: Initiate. Here goes nothing.
Lloyd: Or everything.
Bryce: How do you always know when I'm here?
Nicole: Mm, stalking. Internet. Paid informants. You know, the usual.
Slingerland: Poor Andy. I guess he thought he was in the clear. But I suppose the universe has to, uh, balance itself.
Demetri: Excuse me?
Slingerland: Life is energy, you see. As each new life begins, another ends. And if you mess with that balance, the universe pushes back.
Fiona: There are no accidents anymore.
