The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever

i think the question is WHY the 2 minutes 17 seconds. someone has obviously made this thing happen for a reason, like they needed to do something that took that long to achieve, and they needed the whole world to be out while they did it.

Except if they only needed the world to black out, that doesnt explain why they all had visions of the future

    Want something even creepier?

    Aaron: "We're all prophets now."

    Matthew 2:17

"Then was fulfilled what was said through Jeremiah the prophet."

Or, Acts 2:17 (which I find even MORE creepy yet):

"It will come to pass in the last days, God says, 'that I will pour out a portion of my spirit, upon all flesh. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams."

Now that reference to scripture actually makes sense. Don't really see how the original is related.

eh scripture does that. you could put any random line in there and we would find it eerie most likely. Besides, that would mean that whoever caused the flashforward wanted to leave a code in there.... thats pretty stupid if you ask me, I hope this show is more intelligent than that.

Anything they try and make us buy into will be completely ridiculous. There is no possible way a group of guys could make the world pass out for any length of time. Atleast not the entire world. But when the explanation is finally given, it might make sense in a fantasy way.

Maybe 2 minutes 17 seconds is as long as "they" could make it last, whoever it is that has caused the event.

Don't know if this is important, but 137 is also a prime number.

Genesis 2:17 was said in this episode by the crazy old Mom lady.

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
