  • The truth.

Backwards Day was just that backwards. Our team starts by going one way then ends up heading towards a different direction and not for the reasons they think initially. What they thought was going to be a home invasion gone bad turns out to be a distraught woman who discovers that she is unable to ever have children and that her husband cheated on her, all in one day. She lures the woman to her home after seeing a text message on her husband's phone and demands the truth via holding a knife on her. The team works towards resolving the situation but it continuously twists and turns on them. A decision is made and the team is not in full agreement. But as they are reminded that ulitmately their goal is to save the hostage and all go home safe. In this case they saved the perpetrator as well.moreless
  • An interesting case of what would you do...

    8.0
A wife, believing that her marriage and dreams of a family are over strikes out at the person she thinks is responsible for it ending. The team has to try and find out what happened to get her to this point and deescalate the situation before things spiral too far out of control. As for the character driven background story, Jules and Sam deal with a secret relationship.

I thought it was a pretty good episode. The tension was good and I found myself sympathizing with both Sarah (the wronged wife) and Hannah (the other woman). The twists you could see coming, but the emotional reactions to them were well done. I also liked that Sam was trying his hand at negotiating and was doing a decent job given how he dealt with negotiating last season. There was also that weird parallel between the "secret tryst" that the husband had with Hannah and Sam and Jules having a secret relationship that the rest of the team didn't know about. I realize that there are rules against team members fraternizing but I thought it was funny how Jules had to run tactics whenever she and Sam were together. I know that I initially thought it was too soon for her and Sam to hook up, but I have to admit that they seem really cute together. I'm interested to see where this will end up.moreless
  • Not the best episode ever.

    7.4
Flashpoint is really starting to slip off in its second season. After such a strong first year the stories just aren't as entertaining and are playing into typical cop drama plotlines.

The acting is still strong by both the main cast and the guest stars. That's one of the good things about this show. Although they certainly don't attract big names, they do find talented individuals to fill these roles. It's just that the episodes aren't as emotional as they once were, and when SRU finally bursts on the scene it's just not as thrilling as it previously was.

Flashpoint still should be a staple of your TV block, but it's not the top drama I thought it would remain as.moreless
