  • Another great episode.

Flashpoint continues to be the very definition of what a cop drama should be: 80% action, 15% comedy, 5% backstory. While other shows like Bones often give us too much of the history of their suspects, of their victims, that the viewer could care less about, Flashpoint creates its art on screen by providing total nonstop action. That is what I want, that is what everybody wants.

The story tonight was not great, but we did get a nice chase sequence and a tough, emotional standoff here. Lately we've been seeing the hostage situation resolved halfway through the episode, and another situation arising later on. A nice, welcome change of pace, but I'd also like to see the show's original formula with just one crisis per week return as well.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • When the SRU believed that Helen hadn't taken the children, the simplest way to have ended the hostage situation would have been to have called the father and told him that. Since his sole reason for holding the hostage was because he believed Helen took his children, there would have been no reason for him to continue it.

    • Tattiawna Jones' character Winnie is heard in this episode but not seen.

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Jules: Wow, nice scar.

      Leah: Thanks.

      Jules: Professional or recreational?

      Leah: A little of both.

    • Leah: (about her scar) It's a good reminder not to be an idiot.

Jules: Yeah, got four brothers for that!

    • Greg: Priority's on who and where.

      Jules: Bonus points for why?

    • Spike: Donald Mitchell, cross-ref with Adam Westfall and oh, I get to say bingo?

      Greg: Please don't say bingo.

    • Wordy: Custody fights, they get pretty primal. Right now, he's all tunnel vision and short-term thinking.

Sam: Yeah, well, there's primal and then there's just plain crazy.

Leah: I do crazy ass stuff to save other people's kids. It makes sense to me.

    • Ed: Oh boss, come on. You're not gonna take him?

Greg: Stressful situation for the kids, it might be good to have the other parent there. Come on, if it was your boy, what would you want?

Ed: Are you talking about my boy or your boy?
