Another very disappointing episode of Flashpoint here today. The show has become a massive hit in Canada, and I am glad that is the case, but since it has become that smash hit it has just not delivered in quality. The "emotional" ending that they went for in today's episode just was not that emotional, I know that I did not really feel anything. And the action was so contrived and hackneyed in my book. I guess that you can't have James Bond-esque scenes in every single episode, and this edition was not bad at all, but you expect more given that this is Flashpoint.moreless

    • Greg: after being shot at by a subject and getting back in the command truckOkay, not ready to talk.

    • Spike: (on the phone) All right, Mac, sit tight, I promise we'll have you out of there in no time.
Sgt. MacCoy: No promises. I taught you better than that.
Spike: Yes, sir! (to Greg) Rookie lesson: make no promises. Cops are human, we only do what we can.
      Greg: He's right.

    • Spike: Boss, Oliver MacCoy wasn't just my T.O. (Training Officer), he helped me through a lot of stuff those first couple of years. My father wasn't too big about me being a policeman, my mother never wants to take sides so I didn't have anybody. But I had Mac, Mac was there. He was one of those guys who teaches by example. He's one of those guys I want to grow up to be. He saved my life more than once.
Greg: OK, Officer, it's time we returned that favor. Let's get on with that chopper and figure out where he is.
      Spike: Right. Copy that, Boss.

    • Greg: (about Sgt. MacCoy) He taught you everything you know about being a good cop, and you're one of the best I've ever known.
