We learn that Greg's and Ed's sons do not confirm their fathers as friends on Facebook.
Goof: The science center was on lockdown after the second child was kidnapped, and the police and SRU were on the scene. Yet Maggie left the building, got into a car, and drove away unencumbered, with no explanation about how she could do that.
Goof: After the little girl Riley has the phone taken away from her, we flashback. However it does not say how many hours earlier we are watching.
Goof: This is similar to a goof in the Good Citizen episode. After Maggie takes the phone away from Riley, Winnie tells Parker she has an address, Civic Drugs at 1598 Victoria Street. We later see everyone exiting the drug store and directly over the door the address 1488 is clearly seen.
Goof: The events in this episode are more consistent with the American justice system than the Canadian justice system. For a mother of two young children with a drug addiction caused by an accident which severely injured her and her children and caused the death of her husband to be sentenced to 8 years for the armed robbery of a pharmacy because she needed her drugs would be considered very harsh within the Canadian justice system. Also, she has been clean for the past 4 of the 5 years since she has last seen her daughters. This makes her unlikely to re-offend, and not dangerous to her children. These mitigating circumstances make it unlikely that the courts would have severed her parental rights to allow the children to be legally adopted, and also very unlikely that she would not have known about it.
Goof: Becky Conroy's age is given as 5, however this is impossible given circumstances surrounding the situation. Maggie was in jail for 5 years, and had been out for 4 months before abducting the girls. Becky was 11 months old when she went to live with her adoptive parents. This puts Becky at almost 6 1/2 now.
Though it is technically episode 3.2, this episode is intended to be the Season 3 premiere. Episode 3.1, Unconditional Love, does not belong to any season and was intended as a sort of a mid-summer 'sneak peak' of what to expect in the coming season.
Goof: When Sgt. Parker gives the order to issue the Amber Alert, he says to notify all law enforcement and media within a 100 mile radius. The show is set in Canada, which uses the metric system, so the radius should have been given in kilometres, not miles.
Greg: Dean had an accident on his dirt bike
Ed: Is he okay?
Greg: Yeah. He broke his arm. But I had to find out through Facebook.
Ed: Well, at least he sent you a message, right?
Greg: Nah, he never confirmed me as a friend. He did friend my cousin, though, and that's how I found out - through her.
Ed: f it makes you feel any better, Clark didn't confirm me as a friend, either.
Greg: Yeah, but your son doesn't live 2,000 miles away.
Ed: Planes go to Dallas, boss.
Greg: [referring to his ex-wife] She won't let me through the front door, Eddie.
Ed: So, you bring a ram.
(spotting the kidnapping suspect)
Spike: There she is.
Jules: Can you, ah..
Spike: ..isolate her face? It's already done.
Greg: Oh, getting a little cocky, aren't you, Michelangelo?
Spike: Gunning for a raise, Boss.
Greg: I've hugged a hundred kids in the last 10 years and I still don't know what it feels like to hug my own boy.
Ed: So why don't you go down there, take a ram and bust open a couple doors, huh?
Ed: Or maybe you get a lawyer. You're a good man, Greg Parker, and your son deserves to know that.
(discussing Sophie's pregnancy)
Greg: How's it feel?
Ed: Well, I'm getting used to the idea. So's Sophie.
Greg: Clark's almost out of the house and now it's back to changing diapers and 3 AM feedings.
Ed: And a husband who works all the time.
Greg: It's a second chance - time to do things differently. I'd give my right arm for that.
