  • Not such a pastoral scene...

It was interesting to see a post "Blood Ties" Gina Holden, who was so NOT the perky goth from BT in this installment of Flashpoint. Instead she was a recovered addict and a mother, desperate enough to attempt armed robbery with hostages to save her son from his father and his cult-like behaviours.

Jon-Pyper Ferguson was really very convincing as said father and saviour-of-lost-souls-cum-cult-leader who ran the farm inhabited by other recovered and recovering addicts. He had lost sight of his original good intentions and good deeds in being consumed by his own personal pending fate and so felt to keep all his lost souls safe, he needed to "take them with him" when he died.

I guess I was supposed to feel sorry for this character, but I didn't. Nope. I felt he was an egomaniac, and he could have saved everybody a whole lot of trouble if he just did what he ultimately did...sooner! I might have felt differently if kids weren't involved.

I've always thought it would be interesting in these kinds of story lines, to talk to the writers and/or actors and see what emotions they hoped to invoke for these characters, via their performance.

    Still, good episode, once again..moreless

Overall, it was a good episode.

Dealing with fanatics is tough. You gotta be very delicate, cause in their world they are always right, they aren't doing anything wrong.. you know.

I liked how we got to see the sarge doing some running around with the gun. "I figured we needed at least one bald guy in the field." Priceless.

That's Flashpoint. We see the climax in the beginning and then some backtracking to how it reached that point.

Like I've said before. This show is original and one of the best at the moment. Period.

Action with good twists and interesting characters. Amy Jo Johnson is doing a helluva job, making her character more vulnerable this season.

    Cheers!moreless

It's Jonestown tonight on Flashpoint. A hostile man who believes he is a prophet misguides people into a shed to kill them unless the SRU can get their in time.

This was a unique episode of Flash, but yet still highly entertaining. It featured the two different, isolated incidents, that has been the theme this year, but both moved quickly and kept the viewer hooked.

At this point we know another SRU member is not going to die after one did in the season premiere, but at least the show entertains the possibility of that happening. Another good episode tonight, but no surprise there.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Re Goof: The electric wire was outside the fence not inside so the men wouldn't have been electrocuted when Wordy and Leah threw them up against it as previously stated.

    • Goof: When Leah and Wordy take down the two guards at the main gates, the guards are pushed up against the electric fence during the struggle but are unharmed, yet its not until after the guards are subdued that Wordy turns off the power on the electric fence.

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Ed: He wants to go to a party, I won't let him go. It's just a hassle.
      Wordy: What's the big deal?
Ed: I'll tell you what the big deal is, there's no parental supervision.
Wordy: Oh, parents away, kid takes advantage? You telling me you never went to a party like that when you were Clark's age?
Ed: Why do you think I don't want him to go?
Wordy: No offence, Ed, but your kid plays the cello. I don't know how much trouble he's really going to get into!

    • Sam: Coming with us, boss?
Greg: Well, I figured you need at least one bald guy in the field.

    • (Greg finds Ed tied to a chair)
Ed: This is what it takes to get you out of the truck?
      Greg: He didn't gag you?
