  • Good guys may not finish last, but...

    8.5
    ...sometimes it feels like it.

Alex Carter (Det. Vartann on CSI) plays the "Good Samaritan" who was pushed too far, and almost, but not quite, breaks under the pressure. In this story close to one in local headlines, the victim of multiple indirect assaults on his rights, his property and his family takes matters into his own hands and the episode explores vigilanteism versus victim's rights.

Seems victims don't have much going for them these days, but perps have a whole lotta places to hide; often in plain sight.

Another good rendering of a tale that, thankfully, progresses and ends fairly predictably. The interest factor lies in the knowledge these events should never have been allowed to happen in the first place...moreless
  • Average.

    7.0
Let me clarify, average by Flashpoint standards is still better than most cop shows, but this was certainly not one of the better installments in a fairly strong third season of the show. It felt like the season two finale, a premise that seemed exciting (a man chasing down drug dealers to exact revenge for his brother's death) but was just not executed properly. I never got the feel that the man would get justice or that he would actually go through all the way and kill people, so when none of that happened I was less than shocked.

Still fairly entertaining, but just average for a Flashpoint episode.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Goof: While John Torres lies wounded in the van he gives the team an address for the Steele brothers as 24 Aynes Road. When the team is taking Cooper and the Steele brothers out of the Steele home, the very large address 18 is seen on the building.

    • Spike's full name is Michaelangelo Scarlotti.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Wordy: I grew up here.

      Ed: I didn't know that.

Wordy: Used to be kids in the streets all hours, hide-and-seek, people outside on their patios...

Ed: You sitting on the back of a pick-up, strumming your first guitar.

Wordy: I just hate to see what's happened.

Ed: You've got to talk to City Hall. There were a lot more cops on the street back then.

    • Wordy: Vigilante?

Ed: What would you call him?

Wordy: Some guys try to intimidate a local businessman, this guy steps up, fights back. I'd call him a good citizen.

Ed: A good citizen, in pursuit with a firearm.

    • Leah: I'm gonna apologise to Wordy. He's got a real connection to this place. I didn't mean to push.

Sam: A word of advice to the rookie from the last one? When I joined the team, I made a lot of mistakes and did my share of apologising. But the one thing I never had to apologise for was speaking my mind. You see something you think affects the call, like your general impression of a neighbourhood based on professional experience? You say it.

    • Wordy: Robert, you wanna honour your brothers memory? Start living again, no one is better off without you.

Robert: It's not right, it's not right. They should pay for what they did.

Wordy: I know. Okay, that's why I became a cop, and not a cowboy.

    • Greg: I told them, Michelangelo Scarlatti, codename Spike, is a disgrace to the force. I mean, he cracks under pressure, he can't shoot his way out of a paper bag, he can't be trusted with sensitive information on a surprise party let alone national security, he can't type if his life depended on it. No, wait, that's what I wanted to say.

Spike: Boss, they were headhunting me, okay? It's not like I was....

Greg: I mean, you get to see the world, international intrigue. Young guy like you, right? Just when you make the choice, Spike, I will support it, okay?
