  • Very nicely done

I liked how Kevin was played - dumb and willing to kill a cop, but not willing to shoot Ed or Sam when they came at him. He really loved Haley. I liked how Greg kept the secret, like it was a part of him, as if he could not live with himself if he told the truth and Kevin let him live. I like how this part of Greg's backstory was told - not just told, but really shown. I felt it. Ahh, I loved Jules telling him off. Only she could. And she did it beautifully. Like, "We're totally pi$$ed at you right now, but we love you." Very nice.moreless
  • Excellent episode..

Hmm, I don't know. I was thinking this episode was THE best this season but then I remembered the 1st one, so now I dunno.. maybe not the best one but surely TOP 3 of the season.

Greg Parker gets kidnapped by some junkie meth dealer and thing here is something from his past, a case over 10 years ago where the little lost her mother and Greg took care of her since. We got to see a bit more of Sgt. Parker's personality. How altruistic he is and how what happened to his marriage and son. He was a heavy drinker and that little girl helped him get back to his feet.

A lot of action, nice twist and a good scece with Amy, making her character shine and showing how Jules was affected by the death of Lewis and how worried she was about Greg's safety..

    Cheers!moreless

Another very original episode of Flashpoint. Here we saw the tide turned on Sgt. Gregory Parker as he became the helpless victim and not the one trying to save somebody. This was a refreshing change of pace and like I have mentioned in past reviews, while we knew he was surely not going to die, it was still great to see just how far they took things before he was saved.

Flashpoint keeps you on the edge of your seat for the entire episode. Not too many shows out there can do that, and this was just another example of how true that statement is. Flashpoint's third season has been nothing short of great this year.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Greg had made a 911 call for medical help giving the nature of the problem and the location, so when the SRU was searching that area for him, an EMT team should have been there in response. Yet there was none.

    • We learn that Sgt. Parker was an alcoholic and that his drinking caused his wife to leave with their son, neither of whom he has seen since. He was also a homicide detective 10 years prior to joining the SRU.

  • QUOTES (3)

    • Leah: He's still right.
Spike: You know what? You got a thing for Wordy, okay? No, no, that's what that is. Ed, best entry point today, best POE.
      Ed
      : First one, obviously.
      Spike
: You've got a thing for Wordy too.
Ed: Who doesn't? But the first one's still the right POE.

    • Jules: (to Greg) So you say to yourself I can handle this alone, no problem. I'm a smart guy, I'm Sergeant Greg Parker of the SRU. Keep it on, breathe. You think, I can just talk my way out of this. I can talk bullets right back up the barrel 'cause that's the kind of frickin' genius I am.

    • Jules: (to Greg) You've got no right going around giving up your own life, trying to save everybody else's, not if you don't have to. She's not the only one who needs you.

  • NOTES (2)

    • The song at the end of the episode is Gonna Hurt by Lee Hester (during the closing scenes).
