EDIT
Bret and Jemaine enlist a semi-professional actor to cheer Murray up after a disappointing gig. Asked to place a good-hearted rejection call, the actor gets carried away, offering Murray and the Conchords a recording deal that's too good to be true.

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • The shirt that Bret is wearing in the beginning of the episode has the face of Sally that he embroidered in the episode "Sally Returns".

      • When Ben makes his rejection call Murray breaks down crying and begging for him to sign the band. This scene is nearly identical to what Rhys Darby did on FOTC's BBC Radio Series when he acted as their manager, Brian Nesbitt.

    • QUOTES (1)

      • (on being honest with Murray about the record deal)
Dave: I think you got to use honesty here, I mean, you know, it's always the best policy. Like the other day, their was like five or maybe it was four really hot foreign chicks either like Swedish or Korean in my shop.
        Jemaine: Ah.
Dave: And they were like Dave, "We wanna have a five way with you." I just told them, honestly... ok. Then I just gave it to 'em, hard. (punches hand) And that's the best way to go. And then after that they were like, "hey will you marry us?" and I was like, "excuse me, I don't think monogamy is legal in this country, I don't know where you're from." But you gotta try honesty, it works, it's the best.

    • NOTES (1)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Crowded House

Murray mentions the Australian-born band Crowded House when talking to the guys. This was a bit of an inside joke because frontman Neil Finn made several cameos on FOTC's BBC radio series.
