Flight of the Doves is a 1971 British family TV drama directed by Ralph
Nelson, and based on a novel of the same name by Walter Macken. Hawk
(Ron Moody) and Finn Dove (Jack Wild) are orphans living in Liverpool.
The boys' mother passed away and left them in the care of her husband,
Tobias Cromwell (William Rushton), who the boys call "Uncle Toby." Hawk
and Finn are unhappy with the custody arrangement, and wish to live with
their grandmother in Ireland. When it seems that Uncle Toby has no
intention of giving custody to their grandmother, the boys decide to try
and make it happen anyways.
