    Jessica Marie Alba was born in Pomona, California, April 28, 1981. As a young girl, Jessica moved with her family to Biloxi, Mississippi. Three years later they moved to Del Rio, Texas, before they finally settled down in southern California when Jessica was nine. By the age of 5, Jessica was already dreaming of becoming an actress. She took her first acting lessons at the age of 12 and just nine months later she was signed by an agent. She made her feature film debut in 1993, Camp Nowhere. She was originally hired for a 2 weeks, but was lucky when the lead actress dropped out. Her hair matched the original performers so she got the role. After Camp Nowhere, Jessica appeared in commercials for Nintendo and JC Penney. She branched out into television in 1994 with a recurring role in The Secret World of Alex Mack. Some time later she got the role of Maya for a pilot of the TV show Flipper. In 1995, Jessica filmed the first season of Flipper in Australia. After success of the first season, they went on to film a second season in which Jessica also starred. In 1996, Jessica played Young Eve in Venus Rising. Also she made an appearance as Maria on the hit series, Chicago Hope. In 1998, Jessica appeared in Brooklyn South as Melissa and a few months later she appeared in two episodes of the hit series Beverly Hills 90210 as Leanne. She also acted in an episode of Love Boat: The Next Wave. Later she went on filming the film, P.U.N.K.S, which was released on video in January of 1999. As of 1999, Jessica Alba was getting more popular and recognized. She appeared in a great number of magazines throughout America. She played a supporting role in the movie, Never Been Kissed, alongside Drew Barrymore. A month later she found herself with a larger role as Molly in the film, Idle Hands. Then she landed the starring role in the film, Paranoid as a model named Chole. The year 2000 was the breakout year for Jessica. She was chosen to play the main character Max, in the hit TV series, Dark Angel. Dark Angel went on filming for a total of two seasons. She went on to appear in many magazines that year and made several appearance on TV talk show such as the Rosie O'Donnell Show, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Jon Stewart and the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She also appeared on the People's Choice Awards show and the Golden Globe Awards show where she was nominated for best actress in a new TV series. In May of 2001, Jessica got engaged to her co-star of Dark Angel, Michael Weatherly. She acted in couple of L'Oreal television commercials and began filming the movie The Sleeping Dictionary for the remainder of 2001. In 2002, Jessica visited Japan, where she along side with Michael Weatherly made many appearances in promoting Dark Angel. She also began the filming of the movie, Honey, where she stars as Honey Daniels. "Dark Angel" the video game also was released in the year 2002 and has become a huge seller. Jessica continues to make television shows and magazine appearances as she concentrates on her ongoing acting career.moreless
