Episode 12
AIRED:
Rob's surprise arrival brought mixed feelings to the mansion. Both Rob and Erin had to keep their past a secret; otherwise, the guys would know that Erin had been through this experience before. Meanwhile, Eric seemed a little put off by the fact that the rest of them had endured eliminations and "put in their time" while Rob just got to waltz in at the end. Little did he know that Rob had more than paid his dues. Chad wondered if maybe Rob was a one-night stand or an ex-boyfriend, but said he didn't really want to know. Later, he said he couldn't stand him! On the other hand, Wade took it as a sign that things had taken a turn for the worse. When Eric tried to find out how Rob knew Erin, Rob dodged it by saying he didn't want to talk about it. Eric called it a "lawyer mentality" that Rob was discussing things on a "need to know" basis. Wade was especially peeved that an "ex-boyfriend" had been thrown into the mix. Boys, boys, simmer down! Rob felt his advantage was that he knows about the money, the process and the final choice. The next day, Jordan had the four guys sit in what looked like little voting booths, holding on to a tablet. They would each have an alone date with Erin, but of course it wasn't so easy. Jordan was going to ask them all specific questions about Erin. If they answered a question incorrectly, they were eliminated. The winner of the Erin trivia contest would be able to choose what guy went on what date - and some dates were definitely better than others. The date choices were: "Train of the Stars", "Deep Sea Dolphin Safari", "Erin's Perfect Date," and "Pottery Painting." Erin's perfect date was defined as a cozy night at home, just the two of them. Pottery painting is defined as lame, unless you're part of a bridal party. The game began with "What color eyes does Erin have?" and ended with "In what town was Erin born and raised?" Rob got out on the first question, d'oh! So it came down to Wade and Chad. Whoever answered the final question correctly would win. Wade answered "Oakland" and Chad answered "Los Altos." The answer: Los Altos. Chad was dating king! The first date up for grabs was the dolphin safari, which Chad chose for himself. Next up was pottery painting, which of course went to Eric. Burn! The third date, Erin's perfect date, went to Rob. That left the vaguely titled "Train of the Stars" to Wade. On her way to pick up Chad, Erin pondered how she would explain away Rob's presence and their "past." His arrival had added a level of tension just as she had begun to relax. Erin and Chad seemed pretty cozy as they boarded a boat for their dolphin safari. In this Love Child's humble opinion, they were like the poster kids for "hottest couple of the year." They had to stop smooching so they could watch the pod of dolphins frolicking a stone's throw from the boat. Afterwards, they sat in the limo for a while just enjoying each other's company. While they looked like they'd been a couple for years, Erin said that choosing Chad would be "a huge leap of faith," and that she still wasn't convinced she would take that chance despite their emotional connection. Eric, whose fabulous pottery date was up next, knew that Chad had it out for him since day one. He was determined to use the date to just be himself and show Erin who he really is. That evening, they arrived at a huge loft filled with amazing artwork set against a breathtaking view of downtown Los Angeles. They began by painting canvases, not pottery. Eric was trying to determine Erin's mood by her color choices. Eric needs to relax. While Erin used bold strokes of red to create a modern piece, Eric went for realism with a traditional landscape (read: grass, tree, sky, sun). I think my nephew did a similar piece for his 3rd grade art project last year. However, I do give Eric credit for getting Erin to smear paint on her hand (very sexy) and add a palm print to his work of art. After they cleaned up, they enjoyed a glass of wine and the inspiring view. Erin said she's had sparks with Eric since day one. Eric admitted he was falling for her, despite his efforts to hold back a little. Later, they enjoyed a rooftop dinner. When Erin grilled Eric on the other guy's intentions, he astutely deduced (telling us, not Erin) that she knew about the money. Back at the mansion, Eric shared his suspicions with the other guys. Chad said the whole thing didn't feel right, but there wasn't much they could do about it. Wade, meanwhile, was excited about his upcoming date. I, however, was excited about the quick shot of Wade and Chad standing in the kitchen without their shirts on. Rewind, please! Wade and Erin boarded a train for a journey up the stunning California coast. Suddenly it stopped and a cute girl approached the train. Erin thought it was another twist in the game, until she recognized her own sister! Wade thought it was fantastic that he'd get to know Erin's sister. Erin left them alone at breakfast and Erin's sister wasted no time in finding out Wade's intentions. Erin was nervous that if Wade brought up Rob, her sister Diane would have no clue who he was. However, Diane was a pro and played it off perfectly. Erin soon returned and made Wade leave so she could get Diane's impressions. Erin said that Diane confirmed what she already thought about Wade: He's a great guy who was there for the right reasons. That night, Chad, Wade and Eric went on a little field trip so that Rob and Erin could enjoy "Erin's Perfect Date" at the mansion. This would be the first time Rob and Erin were alone with each other since Erin chose the money over Rob at the end of For Love or Money 1. Erin was a self-proclaimed "nervous wreck" on her way to the mansion. Rob said if he didn't think he had a shot with her, he wouldn't have come back. Erin wasn't sure if Rob was back for revenge, for the money or for her. But she seriously doubted it was for her. They both had a lot of questions for each other. After a glass or two of wine, the conversation got going. Rob told Erin he just wanted to see her again, period. Wow. Erin had no response. After dinner, they got comfy by the fireplace and Rob gave Erin a photo album filled with FLOM memories. Erin was surprised at how comfortable she felt around Rob. No million-dollar secret to keep. Plus, Rob was a great source of info on what the other guys were thinking and feeling. Speaking of the other guys, they were gossiping away like schoolgirls during their "field trip." They wondered what Rob and Erin were up to. Eric and Wade blasted Chad for giving them the "perfect date." Back at the house, Erin and Rob discovered a video and of course had to watch it. It came with a note that read, "The choice to relive the past is yours. A moment you will both remember." Ominous! The tape recapped Erin choosing the money over Rob - a scene neither of them had seen up until that point. It was painful for both of them to watch. Erin thought she looked like a gold digger and said she still wasn't sure if she made the right decision. Rob said it seemed like she had real feelings for him. He made it clear that he wasn't there to have a "little chat" about the past and "move on with his life." He wanted the girl! For her part, Erin said, "I don't want to play Rob for two million at all. We'll just have to wait and see." The next night was the elimination ceremony. Rob played dumb with the guys, asking how the ceremony worked etc. He wasn't totally confident that he'd be asked to stay. Chad said, "I have no preference on who goes tonight. Let's start picking 'em off!" Let's cut to the chase shall we? I'm skipping the fireside a$$ kissing…except for Rob, because it was his first time on the flip side of it. He was a little nervous, but had written Erin a poem. It didn't really rhyme, but it was very heartfelt and touching. At the ceremony, Erin flashed back to when it was her, Kelly, Paige and Lauren as the final four. She called Wade's name first and asked him to stay. Chad's name was next, no surprise there. So it was down to Rob and Eric. Erin said that by eliminating one of them, she was definitely eliminating a sure win of the million dollars. She called Rob down to meet her. But unlike their last meeting, this time she was giving Rob a chance. Eric's face fell as Erin asked Rob to stay! Chad and Wade were also shocked. She told Eric he was an extraordinary person, but that he didn't know himself very well. That, she explained, made it tough for her to get to know him. Eric was emotional as he told her that some people go their whole lives without feeling what he's felt for her. Erin glanced up at Wade, Chad and Rob, still unsure if any of them would choose her over the money. She must just be paranoid, because it seemed clear to this Love Child that any of the three would happily choose her!moreless
