With the tables turned and the stakes raised, 15 hot eligible bachelors arrived at the mansion - thinking they were competing for love. Meet the bachelors, click here. They rolled up to the mansion in several Hummers and were immediately impressed with the decadent digs. Jordan greeted them and welcomed them into the house to get to know each other. They shot pool and acted cool around each other, but to camera they talked about how they "ached for love" (Chris) and how they had "their game faces on" (Deric). Lots of the guys compared their search for love to a game that needed to be won. Strategy was key, as was knowing their opponents. Sounds romantic, eh? After dinner, Jordan met the guys in the living room and dropped the million-dollar bombshell. The guys just couldn't stop smiling! Jordan proceeded to pass out the checks so that the guys could see what a million dollars made out in their name would look like. Chad V. said that despite the cash prize, he was still hoping to find love. Sean summed things up by saying "I've never made money a priority in my life, but then again, no one's ever handed me a check for a million dollars before." Dan agreed that "when you waft the sweet smell of cash in front of a bunch of twenty-something dudes, it's definitely going to change the group dynamic." Richard began to surface as a tough competitor. First he made a huge deal about beating Eric at chess, then he compared the whole game to a chess match. When he held the million-dollar check in his hand, he vowed to emerge as "the one who gets this million dollars." No mention of love or a soul mate. The next morning, some of the guys were working out, while others frolicked in the pool. Everyone, however, couldn't help but wonder what their million-dollar babe would be like. At sundown, Erin arrived. Like Rob before her, she perched on the outside veranda and waited to meet her suitors one-by-one. She would give each guy a ring to symbolize friendship with the possibility of more. When a guy was eliminated, he would have to return the ring to Erin…before toddling off to torch his million dollar dreams. Dustin (the male Alima?) kicked things off by going first. After meeting Erin, the guys continued downstairs to start on the booze. Oops! I mean to start socializing. When Dan met Erin he presented her with a small, carved wooden elephant. Dan said it was a symbol of good luck and Erin loved it. Erin felt an initial chemistry and attraction to Eric, and he poured on the charm. Sean came across as a romantic, which appealed to Erin as well. She called Wade "particularly handsome" and deemed Vic "down to earth" and "handsome." She was also trying to decipher if these were the types of guys that would pick money over her. Greg was stoked to finally see what the mystery woman looked like and greeted Erin with a big hug. She was impressed with the hug and the kiss on the cheek, which apparently moved Greg up in the running. It seemed like Erin barely spent any time with the guys downstairs at the "cocktail party" before scurrying off into the night. The guys seemed smitten, but knew that five of them would soon be going home. The next day when they headed down to breakfast, the guys found a note letting them know that Erin would be joining them for lunch. The casual barbecue would be their last chance to impress her before that night's elimination ceremony. How many guys does it take to grill meat? Fifteen apparently. Erin's advantage, unbeknownst to the men, was that she knew about the million dollars at play. So she tried to gauge which guys were in it for love and which guys were in for money. The guys competed for conversation, with Wade dominating for a while. At one point, Chris pulled Erin aside for S'mores, much to the envy of the others. After the barbecue, Erin felt confident that she'd gotten to know the guys better; while the guys contemplated who would be sent home. The guys cleaned up well and were soon perched on the outside staircase wearing tuxedos and hoping for the best. Erin arrived in a glamorous red dress. She called Deric down first. Unlike Rob, she spared us the "ums" and "I like your outfit" comments. Deric was asked to stay. Next, she told Richard he had a great personality but she didn't feel a strong connection. She asked for the ring back. Ouch. Chad V. faced Erin next and she wanted the opportunity to get to know him better. God bless Erin for being to the point with these guys! With Sean she hesitated before she started, then launched into the "no connection" speech. The other three to be eliminated were: Dustin, Paul and in a surprise move, Chris. Guess all that "quality" BBQ time didn't matter much. Later, as he burned his check, Richard called the experience "the most expensive first date" he's ever had. Chris said that no amount of money would fix his heart.moreless
