While munching on muffins and eggs, PJ and Rachel marveled at how quiet the mansion was with just the two of them. I wonder if billionaire power couples discuss the same thing when they have breakfast? Rachel wondered aloud who could've possibly said anything bad about her to Preston. Gee, I don't know - EVERYBODY? PJ wisely kept her mouth shut, despite being a guilty party. Later in the event room, Jordan reminded the girls that their decision to choose love or money could change their lives. A million dollars could be within their grasps. He then revealed that one of their checks was worth a million dollars and the other was worth a dollar. PJ's instincts were telling her she was worth a million bucks, which would make her decision very difficult. Rachel, on the other hand, knew that a one-dollar check would make her choice much easier. But what if Preston had been leading them on this entire time just so he could choose the money in the end? It was a lot to think about. Jordan reminded them that if either of them chose Preston over their checks, Preston would then be able to choose the girl or the money. Plus, if the final woman chose the money she'd never be able to see Preston again. Both PJ and Rachel seemed sick over the decision that they faced. PJ struggled to keep her true feelings for Preston from Rachel. Jordan then met separately with Preston to discuss his upcoming, final elimination. Jordan told Preston that if the final woman chooses money, Preston would leave with nothing. However, if the final woman chooses Preston, then Preston will make the final decision between love and money. All of this decision-making would be made WITHOUT knowing the value of the final checks. The question was did Preston have a strong enough bond with either PJ or Rachel to risk losing a million dollars? In an interview, Preston said that Rachel was honest and spoke her mind. He could see having a passionate relationship with her. The thing he loved about PJ was the potential for a long-term relationship. Preston thought she was a hopeless romantic and very caring. There was only one more day for Preston to spend time with both ladies, so he took advantage of it. First, Preston joined PJ and Rachel for lunch at the mansion. It was his first time seeing Rachel and PJ interact together. Of course, Rachel started things off with questions - asking Preston how he was handling things. He said he was pretty composed. PJ said she had no regrets about anything she'd done or said throughout the experience because she'd been honest. Rachel sort of laughed, saying that she'd been honest too, except people have hated her for it. After lunch, Preston went for a walk with PJ, which naturally annoyed Rachel. It hit PJ that this might be her last time with Preston. She told him that she was really going to "step off a ledge" and that if he was there to catch her, it would be great. She told him she wanted the happy ending (let's give a nod to "Pretty Woman" for that line). Preston asked her what they would do first if he picked her. PJ said she really couldn't answer that question, but that she was so happy when she was with him. Afterwards, PJ said she left with zero confidence about her chances. In voiceover, Preston said that the chemistry was there with both girls it was just a question of which chemistry was stronger. He also said Rachel would be the riskier choice because he knew PJ would choose him over the money. While with Rachel, Preston was once again bombarded with her insecure questions. This time, however, Preston had some questions of his own. He said he wanted to trust her, to which she replied, "then pick me and let me show you that what I've been saying is true." Then they made out, which seemed to ease Preston's doubts. Back in the house, PJ and Rachel met back up and PJ blurted out "he's gonna pick you." She said she was willing to bet her check on it. This prompted Rachel to blabber on and on about how cute Preston was and how she just didn't know what would happen. I don't know about PJ, but I wanted to smack her. On elimination day, PJ and Rachel were tense to say the least. They suffered through breakfast and the seemingly never-ending afternoon. PJ choked back tears saying that she was really afraid of getting hurt. Rachel admitted that she was initially excited about the possibility of winning a million dollars, but the more she got to know Preston the more she discovered things about him that she really loved. That night, with stress and frustration at an all time high, the girls prepared for the worst. Jordan soon arrived to create even more worry. He reminded PJ and Rachel that the night would be filled with tough choices both for them and for Preston. For his part, Preston said that he could envision future happiness with both girls - but when would he ever be this close to a million dollars again? The reality show gimmick of showing both girls approaching Preston via a split screen made it impossible to know what would happen next. It seemed to be good girl (PJ) versus bad girl (Rachel). Preston said that PJ would "probably be the one my family would want me to choose, but Rachel would be the one my friends would say I should choose." First he spoke to Rachel, saying that after their first date he said, "wow, this girl's the one." Cut to: Preston and PJ. Preston told her he saw a transformation in her but he still had a little hesitation with her. Back to Rachel, and Preston admonishing her for doubting him when he never lost faith in her. Rachel replied, "but I wasn't the one dating other people." Ultimately, Preston told Rachel that he didn't think their chemistry would translate into anything long-term. He asked for her ring back! She was SHOCKED! She couldn't believe he would ask her so many questions if he didn't want to be with her. He said that he hadn't made his decision until a few hours ago. She was sad and disappointed, and, um, she wouldn't leave. He apologized and then wasn't sure what to do. FINALLY, she gave him the ring and stomped off. She ran into the house, up the stairs, flung herself on the bed and sobbed. She said she felt stupid and betrayed because she was going to pick him over the money. At this point, I did feel sorry for the girl. But I really wanted to know how much her check was worth! Not yet… Back on the veranda, Preston spoke to PJ. He said she'd come full circle from day one until now. PJ was SO nervous she was physically shaking. Preston let her off the hook when he said, "I choose you." She exhaled, then smiled. But would she choose him? She told him that she didn't realize how emotionally attached she was to him until that day. She admitted that she could definitely use a million dollars, but she knew that money couldn't buy happiness. She said, "I choose you." They shared a kiss and were all smiles, but now, Preston got to choose again! Would he choose PJ or PJ's mystery check? He pulled her check out of his pocket and said that he could also use the money. People might think he's crazy, he told her, but he'd rather take a chance on love. They kissed again and laughed with relief. BUT WHAT WERE THE CHECKS WORTH? Okay, well, Rachel's check was worth a million…which meant PJ's was worth one dollar. PJ's Cinderella story had definitely come true!moreless
