The Final Six
AIRED:
In a special twist, the girls compete for a chance to get to know how much they are playing for, as well as a solo date with Preston. PJ wins the challenge, and must not reveal to Preston. When we last left the final six ladies, Jordan was about to divulge yet another secret. What he did was let the ladies know that not only does Preston know about their checks, but he also knows the value of their checks! This threw the girls for quite a loop. They began to rethink their last dates...and to question Preston's true motives. While some (Rachel and Andrea) were upset that the balance of power had shifted, others (Rebekah and PJ) became more determined than ever to prove to Preston that they were there for the right reasons. Later that day, the girls rejoined Jordan in the study. There before them were their portraits lined up next to one another. The girls each stood before a box, facing their portraits. The box contained two coins, one with a heart symbol and the other with a dollar sign. Jordan asked them to place the heart coin on the portrait of the person they believed was in this for love and to place the money coin on the girl who was in it for money. They couldn't put either coin on their own portrait. PJ went first and placed the heart coin on Rebekah and the money coin on Rachel. When all six girls had finished, Rachel had 5 money coins on her portrait and PJ had three heart coins. While the women had thought that Rachel would be eliminated from any alone dates, in fact the opposite was true. Both she and PJ had earned alone dates with Preston. First, they would have the chance to learn the value of their checks. Jordan tossed a gold coin marked on one side with a heart and on the other with a dollar sign. It landed on the heart side meaning that the girl with the most hearts (PJ) would learn the value of her check. PJ was pleasantly surprised to learn her check was worth $50,000. Jordan gave her yet another option. She could trade checks with anyone else and perhaps get a higher value. PJ wisely chose to keep her check and not risk it. Jamie, Andrea, Ali and Rebekah soon went on their group date with Preston. Andrea admitted that now that she knows Preston has money on his mind, it's making her lean towards money as well. In the limo ride, the girls agreed to let each other have some private time with Preston during the date. They arrived at Japanese gardens just as a light rain began to fall. Preston said that at this point, two of the four girls were "on the fence" so this date would be crucial. After enjoying a Japanese tea ritual, Preston stole Jamie ($250k) away for some alone time. He admitted having a little crush on her. When they returned, he plucked Andrea ($500k) from the group and they definitely had a different vibe. She was much more touchy-feely and he seemed a little flustered (in a good way). Next, it was back to the house which disappointed Ali ($1 million) and Rebekah ($1) because they hadn't gotten any alone time. Preston rode back with the girls, but it was very quiet in the limo. He did say, however, that if Rebekah had a million-dollar check it would be a bonus because he did like her. Back at the mansion, Rachel wasted in no time in grilling the four girls on all the date details. They, however, didn't spill too much. The next morning's breakfast was tense, maybe because everyone knew that Rachel and PJ would have alone dates that day. Afterwards, the girls discovered a wooden box in the foyer containing giant puzzle pieces. While Rachel trotted off to prepare for her date, the other five girls struggled to put the pieces together. When they finally figured it out (it took them an hour!), it revealed a message: 2 of You Have $1. Ouch. So now they knew PJ was worth $50k and two of them were worth $1. That left 3 other girls that could potentially be millionaires. Meanwhile, Preston whisked Rachel away for their date. There were flowers in the limo...but not for Rachel. They said "Congratulations Bob & Kay." Soon Preston and Rachel arrived at Bob & Kay's Wedding Anniversary held at retirement home. Perhaps the lesson was how to make a relationship last, but it was second only to spin class on the veranda as worst reality show date ever. Was there no date budget this season? ANYWAY, they made the best of it, dancing and eating cake. Rachel seemed to really like Preston, even saying that she'd be willing to move to Denver if things worked out. They shared a few more kisses which she later denied to the other girls. In fact, back at the mansion all of Rachel's giddy gushing totally irked Andrea... which was exactly Rachel's plan. Preston picked up PJ, whom he called a "natural beauty," and they went to the Pasadena Civic Center. A loveseat and champagne was waiting at the foot of the stage. They took their seats and were treated to a personal ballet performance! They shared a brief kiss, but when Preston leaned in for a follow-up smooch PJ turned her head. Ouch! She said in an interview that the game was stuck in her head and she just couldn't relax. And speaking of relaxation, back at the mansion the girls were having, well, girl talk. Somebody mentioned herbal libido vitamins, which prompted Rachel to share a little too much. She revealed that it's been frustrating (on many levels) to not be able to please herself since she's been in the house. Reactions to her statement were mixed. Most of the girls laughed it off. Andrea, however, wasted no time telling Rachel that her inappropriate comments were just a ploy for attention. The gloves were off. Rachel said she didn't even want to look at Andrea. Andrea stormed out. Ali tried to negotiate peace, to no avail. Elsewhere, on PJ and Preston's limo ride back to the mansion, they managed to kiss some more after she tried to explain away her earlier discomfort. Preston later said that PJ probably had the purest of intentions among the group. She definitely kept things pure during her brief recap of the evening to the girls. But the fact that PJ had a romantic ballet date and Rachel had crashed a retirement home party did not sit too well with Rachel. At that night's elimination, Preston thanked everyone for a wonderful week. Here's what he had to say about each girl. On Rebekah, "I can't help but smile around her." He thanked Andrea for being "forthright" in her comments. With Rachel, he was "proud to be with her on their date". He "enjoyed PJ's transformation" during their alone date. And he called Jamie the "ideal woman." So it must have been difficult for him to send his ideal woman home, but that's what he did. He recognized that she was more of a fantasy crush for him. For her part, Jamie torched her $250,000 check and said that it had always seemed that neither Preston nor the money were within her grasp. © Love Child & FLOM Sitemoreless
