For Your Love

Show Summary

From commitment phobics to blissful newlyweds to wedlock veterans, For Your Love depicts love in all of its romantic, challenging and chaotically hilarious stages.

This sophisticated romantic comedy series was created and is executive produced by Yvette Lee Bowser. Set in the suburb of Oak Park, Ill, the series follows couples bound by friendship and family as they traverse the many phases of life and love in all their glorious complications.

While adjusting to married life, Mel (James Lesure) and Malena Ellis (Holly Robinson Peete) exercise strong wills and a fiery passion for each other as they learn the hard lesson that the early years may just be the toughest. Following the arrival of their baby son Evan last season, the couple realizes that parenthood is a full-time job.

As Malena attempts to balance her career with motherhood, Mel continues to build his new law firm and take on bigger clients. Their close friends and next-door neighbors, Sheri (Dedee Pfeiffer) and Dean Winston (D.W. Moffett), are former high school sweethearts and thought they were destined soul mates. The couple is going through a rocky patch and have decided to separate after seven years of marriage.

Mel's younger and slightly immature brother Reggie (Edafe Blackmon) finally found the confidence to take his relationship with girlfriend Bobbi Seawright (Tamala Jones) to the next level. Unfortunately, after only a few months of supposed marital bliss, Reggie starts to question the state of his union and his professional aspirations.

The show first aired on NBC and was dropped by that network, but then aired for four seasons on WB.

I watch this show on TV-One (Ch 173) and I realize that it was far ahead of its time. The show is great and I always look forward to seeing it again. The show ended too soon. Bring it back on with some updates! All the characters are great AND it gives a sense of reality to love and marriage. Did I mention how attractive all the characters are? I really like the strengths and weaknesses of each character. What a show! Personally, I really enjoy this strong side of Holly Robinson-Peete. This was her best show!moreless
