"You cannot be in love! You have not one shred of humanity left in you"-Nick to Lacroix.



A great episode, series classic. This episode if you have to see why Lacroix hates Nick this is the one. Throughout, the series we see Lacroix make Nick's life miserable and how Nick's lifestyle of trying to be human is hypocritical of a guy who liked Lacroix killed for hundreds of years.



This time around then Lacroix is actually the sympathetic one and this was great writing to explain why Lacroix hates Nick with a passion at times. During the middle ages Lacroix falls in love with Nick's sister, Fleur. She is amazingly beautiful the type of girl who is beautiful because she is pure and innocent. Nick sees Lacroix's interest in her and tries to intervene. However, this time Nick's interference is not needed as Fleur feels the same way for Lacroix since he is a man of experience. Of course, the major conflict is that Lacroix is a vampire something of which tries to use it separate their attraction. Of course this action would also expose Nick not only as a vampire but a hypocrite since the same thing Nick accuses Lacroix (killing of using young girls, he did the same as well).



Anyways, Fleur doesn't care because she senses Lacroix trying to change his ways. Nick's decision though is final there would be no relationship between. Lacroix is enraged and vows one day to have retribution in the form of messing with Nick every waking day and then, that one day where Nick finds his love, interfere like he did.



That day has come and Nick is getting ready to express his love to Natalie who at this point has tried but failed to make him human medically. Anyways, Lacroix catches wind of the situation and puts a stop to it to Nick disappointment.



Meanwhile, there's a killer targeting lonely woman who are falling for fake romantic cards. However, that's just a side story for me this was the as they say the turning point in seeing Lacroix in a different way. We get to understand why he is what he is. The only thing he really loved and a self-righteous hypocritical vampire puts a stop to it.



It explains a lot. The episode was well acted and the ending was executed well.
