If you look at this episode compared with some others, you will see that near the end, when Eduardo is in bed, the bed is very tall.
When everyone is scratching their itches at the dinner table, Frankie has messed up her hair completely. However, after Herriman starts remarking on how bad the situation is, Frankie's hair is fine.
When Mr. Herriman and Frankie are chasing Eduardo, Herriman's monocle is on his right eye, but after the chase, it is on his left eye.
Eduardo: Are you guys hungry? Bloo: Starving! Coco: Coco! Eduardo: I wasn't talking to you.
(Bloo is thinking about what Mac said earlier while in bed) Mac: (in Bloo's thoughts) Fleas need Fur, duhhhh! Fleas need Fur, duhhhh! Fleas need Fur, duhhhh! Fleas need Fur, duhhhh!
Mr. Herriman: Fleas!? How did you get FLEAS!?!?
Fleas: (controlling Mr. Herriman and hitting him) Stop hittin' yourself! Stop hittin' yourself!
Bloo: Hey, Mac! Look! I got fleas, but bigger ones! I bet they're super fleas! Mac: Bloo, those are ticks. They suck out your blood. Bloo: Pshaw, ri... (Faints)
When all the fleas were put in the secret door, Mr. Herriman was clearly shown locking the door. However at the end credits, it was supposed to stay locked, but Bloo opened it.
Mac tells Bloo that he can't have fleas because fleas need fur (duh), and in the end Bloo gets "superfleas" that are actually ticks, which Mac says suck out his blood. In reality, both fleas and ticks live by sucking out the blood of their hosts; it has nothing to do with fur, so the fur solution at the end wouldn't really work. (Even though the fleas are imaginary, Mac said that fleas need fur before he knew they were imaginary.)
In the end when Frankie says there's another door we're not going in again, she's referring to the episode "The Trouble With Scribbles."
Candi Milo, who normally voices Coco and Madame Foster, can be heard voicing some of the fleas on Eduardo. This is significant because she played The Flea on the cartoon show Mucha Lucha.
The door of the room the fleas are put behind has the same "Stay away! Do not enter!" notice as the secret door from "The trouble with Scribbles".
For this episode's first few showings, there was no closed captioning.
Look Hard: When Bloo is contemplating how to get fleas in bed, the clock reads 2:59.
Eduardo and Mr. Herriman, among other imaginary friends, appear without fur in this episode.
Credits: Bloo pulling the same "secret door" thing he did in "The Trouble With Scribbles."
Funny Sight Gag: When the negotiations are being held, as everyone else is listening in through the door, Coco is listening through the floor.
Animation Studio: Cartoon Network Studios.
When Eduardo is angry, he makes loud and deep footsteps that shake the ground.
Running Gags: 1) The imaginary friends calling Eduardo a "weirdo." 2) Frankie and Mr. Herriman trying to get rid of the fleas. 3) Bloo asking Eduardo for the fleas.
Eduardo appears naked for the second time in the series.
The new guy from "Beat With A Schtick" makes a cameo in this episode.
The fleas that Eduardo had (that came from Chewy) were all imaginary.
Bloo wants Eduardo fleas because "Eduardo gets everything."
Chewy from "Who Let The Dogs In?" returns in this episode.
Original title: "Lord of the Fleas."
The storyline is similar to the Dr. Seuss book "Horton Hears a Who!". In the book a world of tiny people called the 'whos' live on a speck that has fallen on a clover. An elephant by the name of 'Horton' saves and protects the Whos, only to be labled as paranoid. When the other characters are just about to boil the clover, the Whos all shout at once to prove their existence.
Fleas: Design.
The Fleas' designs are somewhat similar of the Spy Vs. Spy cartoons in MAD Magazine.
Flea Mayor: Appearance & Voice The mayor of the fleas looks and sounds like the mayor of Townsville from The Powerpuff Girls. Series creator Craig McCracken also created that show.
Episode Title: Land of the Flea A pun on a line from The Star Spangled Banner that reads "O'er the land of the free..."
