  • Great parody of Pygmallion.

    9.5
    "Superb"
I love how this episode is such a great parody of Bernard Shaw's Pygmallion Espeacially the part where Bloo and Coco tried reciting "the sleet in Crete stays neatly on the street." Which is obviously reffering to "the rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain." To make the parody even more obvious, the Einsfohiddles as well as Lord and Lady Pickering attended the Gala. It is espeacially appealing to me due to the fact that I studied the play in depth. I love how Bloo is so sarcastic without him even realizing he is. And this is one of a few episodes where Coco is reffered to as a "deranged bird-airplane-plant thing." They should make more stories about Bloo and Coco.
  • When A Benefactor...

    9.9
    "Superb"
We are shown various peaceful scenes at Madame Foster's home which are disrupted by the eccentric Coco. Later, Mr. Herriman tells Mac and Bloo that he wants them to keep Coco out of sight while a benefactor comes for a visit, as Coco's presence would ruin their chances of receiving a generous donation. Mr. Herriman sarcastically promises them that they would receive Bloo's request of jet cars in return.

Throughout most of the benefactor's visit, Mac and Bloo are able to keep Coco out of sight until they all end up in the kitchen, where the benefactor walks in on Mr. Herriman and Coco accidentally lip-locked. The benefactor is really taken with Coco and says since Mr. Herriman is married to someone like Coco, they would be able to attend his charity gala.

Mr. Herriman can't believe it, but the only way for Foster's home to receive a donation is to pretend to be married to Coco; so he has to turn her into a lady. Meanwhile, Mac and Frankie are trying to teach Bloo what sarcasm is, even though he uses it all the time. Mac wants to teach Bloo this, because Bloo doesn't understand that Mr. Herriman really isn't going to give them jet cars.

After Mr. Herriman gives up trying to teach Coco how to be a lady for the charity gala, she proves to him that she was a lady all along, but she didn't want to be forced to act as such before; she'll gladly help him out. Also, Bloo finally sarcastically remarks: can sarcasm be any easier? Well, Bloo is mad that he isn't going to get a jet car, so Mac and Bloo are able to attend the gala, too, as Jet Cars for Tots.

At the event, the eccentric benefactor has all the competing charities undergo a series of challenges, which include a potato-sack race, swimming, and Simon Says. Finally, the last event is Coco and Mr. Herriman vs. Mac and Bloo in a jet-car jousting match. Even though Bloo wants to fly off and steal the benefactor's jet car, Mac decides to stay because of a principle that he doesn't really understand himself.

Mac and Bloo win the competition only to find out this whole thing was a complete sham, and that they're actually trespassing on someone else's property. They're all arrested except for the fraud benefactor who slipped away when he was found out, but eventually released. Mr. Herriman tells Coco that he appreciates everything she's done for him and how much of a dear friend she is to him, but she starts acting crazy again.

Much later, they're all at the pool reflecting on what they were put through, when Coco lays an egg with even more money than the fake benefactor promised them. Mr. Herriman took the money he needed for the house and even bought a couple of jet cars for Mac and Bloo. Bloo was confused; so Mr. Herriman said he is a rabbit of his word, but then said: could I be anymore sarcastic? It ends with stunned silence.

No doubt that this show should win an academy award. It is unimaginable for it not to as it does show some things that are educational and funny at the same time. Coco is the one that livens the whole show before she is transformed to be civilized and after she reverts to herself again. Quick to imagine that Herriman was funny again at times after "World Wide Wabbit." Don't think that this show is a waste of time, once you see some episodes, you would want to see the first and from here on out these shows will be part of your routine. What else Mr. McCracken has on his mind?
  • A funny story.

This is a very funny episode. Most of the jokes in this story are showcasing Coco's off the wall behavior, so if Coco is one of your favorite characters, then this episode is for you. Just see how everybody reacts to her antics, from those that know her well to those whom have just met her.

Of course, what would an episode of Foster's be without Bloo? He is kind of funny in this episode with Mac trying to teach him something it seems he already knows everything about. This episode will have you laughing from beginning until the end.
  • Very funny show

This was a funny show as I was cracking up all over again and again

Probably one of the better shows

As Harriman, known for his strict rules and by the book attitude

Wants Mac & Bloo to watch over Coco

Because some very "rich" man would be coming in

Perhaps dedicating money to the home

But when Coco is mistaken for his wife

    Things get thrown into overdrive

Very funny show as I laughed over and over again!
  • Finally learning more about Coco and Mr. Herriman...

    "Great"
My So Called Wife was a wonderful episode, especially for the character developement of Coco and Mr. Herriman.

Trying to get money for Foster's, Mr. Herriman pretends to be married to Coco after a benefactor thinks the two are married. When the benefactor promises to give Foster's money as long as he shows up on a given night with Coco, Mr. Herriman has to go for it. And thus the "My Fair Lady" part of the episode begins. It could have easily went astray, but stayed right on target and even I got irritated as Mr. Herriman tried to teach Coco to do things more "lady-like". It was fun to see him try to get Coco to say "The sleet in Crete stays neatly in the street", when we all knew all Coco would end up saying was "Coco".

In this episode, I also enjoyed the subplot of Bloo trying to learn the meaning of sarcasm from Mac and Frankie. Bloo wanted jet cars and Mr. Herriman promised if he would watch Coco, he would get Mac and Bloo some. Afterward, Mr. Herriman says they are in the mail and Mac informs him that Mr. Herriman was being sarcastic. Obviously, this goes right over Bloo's head and he needs help figuring this out. Even though, he had basically been using sarcasm from the beginning of this entire series, but had no idea he was doing it. I especially enjoyed how the scenes kept switching from Coco and Mr. Herriman and Frankie, Mac, and Bloo as each were trying to teach a few life lessons that needed to be heard. Eventually, both Coco and Bloo get what each is teaching them and the infamous "By George, I think he/she's got it." was spoken, thus ending the "My Fair Lady" plot.

However, the best part of the entire episode was when Mr. Herriman and Coco go to the charity party and it is revealed that they must compete in the Charity Games to get the money. Then, Mac and Bloo (who is now convinced he is NOT getting jet cars) go and make up their own charity "Jet Cars for Tots". Eventually, it's down to Mr. Herriman/Coco and Mac/Bloo and once it's revealed the game is about jet cars, you know who is going to when. However, when Mac and Bloo win, instead of getting the $10 million dollars, it's found out that the benefactor was lying and all the participants are trespassing in an old man's mansion and he has them all arrested.

The most touching part of the episode was when Mr. Herriman realized that Coco was not as stupid as she seemed and that she really did have the ability to learn something valuable. Also, Mac and Bloo actually did get jet cars from Mr. Herriman who was a "rabbit of his word". Thus, confusing Bloo even more about sarcasm. The ending left me wondering one thing, did they get to keep the jet cars or not? I guess if I see them in a future episode, I know.

This was an absolultely great episode and teaches that looks can be deceiving and that you really cannot judge a book by it's cover. It's rare when a children's show can effectively teach a virtue lesson, but "My So-Called Wife" did. It was beautifully written and excellently executed to the screen.

A rich benefactor is considering giving money to a charity, and visits Foster\'s to see if it is worthy. Mr. Herriman gets Mac and Bloo to keep Coco out of the way but in the end it is only when the benefactor mistakes Coco as Mr. Herriman\'s wife that he considers Foster\'s, and invites them to his mansion where he will decide which charity gets the money. Mr. Herriman then tries to teach Coco to be sophisticated, while Mac and Frankie teach Bloo sarcasm, since he didn\'t understand that Mr. Herriman was being sarcastic when he promised them two jet cars. At the mansion it is a competiton to see who will win the money. Can Coco and Mr. Herriman win the money for Foster\'s? And what about Mac and Bloo who enter as \'Jet Cars for Tiny Tots\'?
  • Coco steals the show.

"My So-Called Wife" ends the second season of the highly popular Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends.

The episode shows the craziness Coco contains and the results she leaves off, and after being mistaken as Herriman's wife, the victorian rabbit must teach her to be a proper lady-if she only listens; there was also a subplot when Mac and Frankie tries to teach Bloo sarcasm.

With so many odd twists around the corner, "My So-Called Wife" is considered a fav in my list and as well as another well-done episode writtened by Adam Pava.
  • Not my fav....

This episode was good...not great...but not bad, with a few funny moments. Coco is still a nutcase, (see should be called Cookoo!)

The subplot was good. It tied in well. Bloo, uses sarcasm, all the time, when he's not realising it.

Overall, a good episode, a solid plot and subplot, loads of laughs and a deranged psycho as a benefactor, what more could you ask for!

WSCW was perhaps the most hilarious FHFIF episode to date. I STILL laugh at this quote, even after watching it over and over again:

Herriman:Coco, you saved my life. You're so, amazing...

    (Coco sniffs foot)

    LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL! LOL!

Ok, maybe I need to get a life...

Regardless, My So Called Wife provides character development for Coco, Mr. Herriman, and even Bloo.

When a rich man comes to Foster's, Herriman hopes to convince him to donate money to Foster's. But Herriman rightly assumes that the man will NOT want to donate money to a house with a crazy bird thing running around.

Unfortunately, the man encounters Coco and mistakes her for Herriman's wife. e_e

Herriman must tame Coco befoer the convention at the man's mansion.
  • NMeed Etiquette classes? Need to learn sarcasm? Come to Fosters Home now, its all free, warning while stocks last! I won't say its one of my favourites though...

As many people liked this episode, sadly I didnt get the feel of liking the episode very much.

As Mr Herriman shows the stranger around the house, the guy sees Herriman "kissing" Coco, and that was one of the few funny scenes of the episode, the stranger thinks Coco is his wife. So, Herriman teaches her etiquette stuff and truely enough, Coco learns by herself.

Meanwhile, Bloo thinks Mr. Herriman is going to get them jet cars so Mac tells him that its sarcasm. Bloo acts stupid yet again by saying he doesnt understand sarcasm even if he uses it all the time. What an idiot! So, Frankie and Mac teach Bloo all about sarcasm but it doesnt work.

At the party, Bloo and Mac win one million dollars but it's just a rip-off and the stranger escapes (Read my SSOS review abotu con-artist hehe) while everyone else goes to jail.

You just can't help but feel sorry for all the people at the party but Mr Herriman was so lucky that Coco laid one Million dollars and got Jet cars for Mac and Bloo, but now Mac is confused like Bloo about sarcasm in the credits. They look so cute when they are clueless.
  • I'm cuckoo for 'Coco' Puffs!!! A fun Coco-centric episode.

I saw the previews well before the week "My So Called Wife" aired (it was during Cartoon Network's Cartoon Summer Kick-off special in May 2005). From the looks of it, this looked like a brilliant episode to watch. Did the previews live up to my expectations?

Let's begin when we learn that at 1 PM, the imaginary friends take their naps at the time. This episode focuses primarily on Coco, as well as Mr. Herriman, Bloo, and Mac. A man, named Ben E. Factor (a benefactor who looks a lot like American historical icon, Benjamin Franklin), visited the home to check out the place, and possibly give money to Foster's. Later on, Ben E. Factor mistakens Coco as Herriman's wife, and Herriman ended up agreeing that he and 'Mrs. Herriman' visit Ben's mansion to see if he will choose to them or another group the money.

Yes, Bloo and Mac play a major role in the episode. Bloo believes that Mr. Herriman will get Mac and him jet cars. This is where things get 'veddy' interesting. Bloo learns all about sarcasm, when Mac and Frankie teach him what it means. At the same time, Herriman tries to teach Coco proper manners and English. Both sides believe that they're ready.

Herriman and Coco arrived before Mac and Bloo to compete for the money. Once Mac and Bloo arrived, Herriman was surprised to see the two being present. Then, the teams competed. At the end, it was Coco/Herriman vs. Bloo/Mac. 'Jet Cars for Tiny Tots' (Bloo/Mac) won over 'Foster's' (Coco/Herriman). So, Mac and Bloo get the money, right? Well, not exactly. The two believed that they have one $10 million, only to learn that it was anything but $10 million. Ben explained to Bloo and Mac that it was sarcasm. Bloo stated that it wasn't sarcasm, and how he learned about sarcasm earlier. The real rich guy appeared immediately, and Ben E. Factor retreats. Everyone at the mansion briefly went to prison, and were released momentarily. Bloo said hello to the guard (this guard may have been the same one that appeared in Store Wars). At the end, Coco somehow got the money for Foster's, and Mac and Bloo got jet cars. Herriman used sarcasm again at the end, which left Bloo and Mac speechless, staring at each other, and thinking about what Herriman meant.

This episode was brilliant. Herriman and Coco brought lots of laughs in this one, and Bloo not knowing about sarcasm was amusing, as well. So, (sarcastically) noooo, this was a baaaaad episode!!! I don't recommend it. Kidding, sheesh!! ;)
  • My 4th fave ep, 'My So-Called Wife is 'So Much Wondeful'!

    8.9
    "Great"
This episode had god humor, script nad story. Coco stars in this ep! And so does Mr. Herriman. Even though I hate the guy, it's cool how they try and relate. And wow! Mac and Bloo stay freidns for once! In most other eps something causes them to break up, (For example: BBN) or amost break up. But they didn't this time! Good!

Things I loved: Bloo trying to learn sarcasm, (that was gutbusting) Herriman teaching Coco some well-thought-out manners, langauges and etiquettte, and those games at the Gala. Also, Coco is a miracle, laying money! How sweet is that! Sweet as cocoa LOL!

You must see this one! 4th fave!
  • Candi Milo stole the show again.

    8.9
    "Great"
When we last mentioned Candi Milo, we talked about her scene-stealing bit role as the mentally challenged imaginary friend of Louise, Cheese in Mac Daddy.

Let's say she topped that one. As Coco the seemingly demented tree-bird-plane thing dreamed up by a girl on a deserted island, then when that little girl left, Coco went crazy go nuts. Which is why she went to Foster's. And we finally got to see it - in a spoof of the Lerner-Loewe version of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmallion titled My Fair Lady. Benjamin Edward Factor III, Esq., D.D.S., con man extrordinare, has been convinced after Mac and Bloo try to keep Coco far away from Mr. Herriman as possible in exchange for jet cars. So as in the story, we hear a spoof of "The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain."

Thank you, Adam Pavla for this episode.
