    And so the streak is over. 13 years this was the American League's game, since 1996, but now the National League wins and their representative in the World Series will now get home field advantage. The game, like usual was boring for the first 7 innings, but then picked up. Brian McCann was the hero as he got a three RBI double as Marlon Byrd somehow made it from first to home on the play.

    David Ortiz got a hit in the ninth, but then got thrown out. Beltre swung at a ball to strikeout and the AL just could not come back. Thrilling final inning, but a pretty slow-moving All Star game before that.moreless
