The annual Summer Classic has come and gone for Major League Baseball. For weeks ESPN and its analysts have criticized the game for its "lack of importance" despite the fact that it determines home field advantage in the playoffs, and saying that the MLB Home Run Derby (which coincidentally airs on ESPN) is the real game. While that is always fun, the National League made this a game and that is what was exciting. I expected Tim Lincecum to come out and dominate, but instead he proved to be the weak link for the NL giving up two early runs. But strong hitting allowed the NL to get back in it and led to a nail-biting 9th inning.
Earlier this year I predicted a Boston Red Sox vs. St. Louis Cardinals World Series. Now with the AL getting home field advantage this could be the deciding factor that could push BoSox over Albert and crew.
Good game and you really missed out if you didn't tune in.moreless
