Really? The lastest one is set in December 1942, I would have thought they could get more than a couple of episodes out of the remaining 3 years of the war.
It is a shame though, it's a very entertaining show.

There are probably dozens of stories that could be set before the end of the war but it's more a matter of those involved wanting to move on to other projects. Anthony Horowitz has his Alex Rider films as well as other new works and the main actors have other interests.

Casualties of War has just aired in the US, I've always enjoyed this show, and am always ready to watch when I see them in the PBS schedule... Was there more than 2 episodes for season 4 and 5?? there used to be four a season.
Will be sorry to see this show go. I thought it was extremely interesting and well done.

Season 4 and 5 were just two episodes each. Michael Kitchen had some other projects he wanted to do, so they worked around him. I heard that they will take it to the end of the war. Casualties of War was Mach 1943. I have heard the next one will be sometime in 1944 (maybe around D-Day) and then one in 1945 - at the end of the war. I was hoping for at least four more. I have these on DVD and my husband and I rewatched Seasons 1-3 before going to the last four episodes. I guess by the time the last ones come out on DVD we will watch them all again! They have been great shows. I am glad I collected these as well as all the Midsomer Murders coming out.
