Fractured Phrases

Show Summary

This short-lived word game was hosted by Art James. It featured two teams of two civilian contestants (no celebrities). In turn, one member of the team was handed a common name or phrase that had been replaced by rhyming words by the show's writers. Example: "Tarzan tribes 4-F her" for "Stars and Stripes Forever." That team member would repeat the given phrase until time expired or the teammate could say the target phrase. The cluegiver (which alternated for each word) had 15 seconds to communicate the phrase to his partner. A correct answer earns points for the team; failing to guess allowed the other team a chance. The day's champion played a bonus round for cash and prizes.
