Episode Recap

Doc returns home from an outing of shopping. He has bought some hardware materials and two donuts, which delights Sprocket. Doc makes Sprocket choose between the custard or the jelly donut. Sprocket can't decide. Gobo shows up for his latest postcard. He slips out of the workshop unnoticed but trips over Red upon his reentry. While walking back home, they discuss Wembley's indecision to choose a job. Mokey and Boober are asking Wembley what job he has chosen, but the Fraggle is just too indecisive. Gobo and Red enter and help urge him in his choice. They all begin singing about the joys and rewards of working and describe what each does in his/her occupation. But Wembley is still flustered at his inability to choose. Mokey offers a suggestion and takes him with her to see if he would like to do her job: picking radishes.

Junior Gorg is patrolling the castle when Pa and Ma show up. They have a silly arguement over the password and the King and Queen walk into the castle, Junior tripping and falling down as Mokey and Wembley arrive in Gorgs' garden. They succeed in gathering a radish, but encounter Junior. He lunges at the two Fraggles, but Mokey is unfazed and simply hits Junior on the nose with the radish and takes Wembley back home, leaving Junior stunned.

Back home, Gobo reads his latest postcard to Red and Boober, which reveals Traveling Matt testing a roller coaster, hilariously mistaking it as a transportation system. Mokey and Wembley return and Wembley is still undecided on a job. Boober suggests Wembley do laundry, which is Boober's job. Red points out how boring that is (which is why Boober likes it, however), and Wembley blows that suggestion off as well. Gobo decides to use a new technique by getting tough with Wembley. He orders Wembley to choose a job soon or their friendship is over. Wembley is distressed.

Sprocket is still trying to decide between the two donuts. He finally chooses one and is about to eat it when the cuckoo clock strikes, announcing lunch time. Doc removes the donuts and sets two cans of different soups in front of Sprocket. Doc realizes that this was a mistake as Sprocket will now have to choose one of the two soups.

Gobo's harsh actions has sent Wembley to visit the Trash heap. After naming a few job ideas that Wembley blows off, she finally suggets the occupation of fireman (which is what the Trash Heap originally wanted to be). This interests Wembley a great deal and he runs off to tell the others about his choice. Excited, Wembley is running back home finally having chosen a job, but stops suddenly as he realizes he can't be a fireman because he doesn't know how to start a fire. The Fraggle Fire Department is having a meeting for their new applicant. They sing the Fireman's Anthem while Gobo praises Wembley for finally deciding on a job. Wembley still has his reservations, which are further fueled by Boober's worries. The Fire Department calls Wembley forth for an interview process and proceed to ask him questions. All goes very well at first, which seems to cheer Wembley up and give him confidence, until they ask him how to start a fire. Wembley freezes and eventually tells them he doesn't know. He is shocked to find that they don't know how to start a fire either and cheerfully accept him and give him the position of being the siren. Wembley howls his siren as the Fire Department sings for their new member, welcoming Wembley aboard. Gobo and the others are pleased for their friend. Wembley continues howling like a siren excitedly.

Doc hears Wembley's siren noises and thinks it's the real fire department. He cracks a joke about it and tells Sprocket, who is still sitting in front of the two cans of soup as well as the two donuts from earlier, to hurry up and choose as it is almost bedtime.
