  • Frasier and Niles hit upon the idea, born out of desperation,to write a book together. Like most joint ventures involving the brothers Crane it has descended into farce by episode's end.

    9.5
The highlight of this episode is a very short ditty that Frasier and Niles sing (and dance) their way through before sitting down to try and write a book together.

When Niles' publisher Sam Tanaka suggests that the two brothers write a book together, based on their combined experiences,Frasier can't get out of the cafe quick enough. That is until Niles reminds him of a musical the two wrote at high school, which goes a little something like this...

'Oh,some boys go to college, but we think they're all wussies, they get all the knowledge, but we get all the ....'

Sadly, that is the one and only highlight as the episode descends into farce, however, the song is so clever and so hliarious it is worth viewing and pretty much saves the episode.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • During the scene where Frasier and Niles begin to write in Frasier's apartment, it is clearly visible when the shot cuts to Niles that the screen to his laptop isn't on while he is supposed to be typing.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Niles: Frasier, while you're over there mixing metaphors like a cuisinart, I've got a brainstorm!

    • Frasier: Niles, is there a lightbulb over my head?
      Niles: You have an idea?
Frasier: (sarcastic) No, I'm asking if there's an actual lightbulb over my head.

    • Frasier: (while wrestling on the hotel bed) Niles! We're psychiatrists, not pugilists!
(after Niles relaxes) I can't believe you just fell for that!

    • (Frasier and Niles are writing their book in the living room and Martin won't go)
Martin: But the Sonics game is on twenty minutes!
Frasier: Dad, I solved that problem. I bought you these headphones. You'll be able to listen to the TV without disturbing Niles and me while we work.
Martin: What about Eddie? How's he gonna hear?
Frasier: He can read about the game in tomorrow's paper.

    • Niles: All my life I have dreamed of one thing: the day I could go into a library, go to the card catalogue and see my name under "mental illness".

    • Frasier: Niles, I would shave my head for you.
Niles: A gesture that grows less significant with each passing year.

    • Niles: My research is widely acclaimed in academic circles. Three of my patients have run for political office, but it's your big fat face they put on the sides of buses!
Frasier: I do not have a fat face!
Niles: Oh, please. I keep wondering how long you are going to store those nuts for winter.
