Niles' concerns over a toothache lead him to believe that the pain may be referred - and that the real problem is with his heart.
When Frasier, Martin, and Daphne are interviewing housekeepers, Martin mentioned that when he and Frasier interviewed Daphne, Frasier thought she would steal from them. However, in "The Good Son" (the Pilot) when Martin and Frasier interviewed Daphne, Frasier never mentioned a fear that she will steal from them. In fact, stealing was Martin's concern about the woman they interviewed just before Daphne. Furthermore, it is unlikely Frasier was at all worried that Daphne would steal from them when they interviewed her, because when Martin mentioned that Daphne would only be in the apartment when Frasier was not, Frasier immediately told Daphne she was hired. He probably would not have been so quick to hire someone he feared would steal -- especially if he would not be home when she was there.
When Martin starts his card trick, the Jack of Diamonds is seen at the bottom of the deck. After the trick, when Niles draws the Ace of Spades out of the deck, the 4 of Diamonds is seen on the bottom although Martin never shuffles the cards.
Niles: (in his head) Look at her. She's so beautiful, so perfect. She deserves nothing but happiness. I hope when I'm gone she's able to make a life with someone else. After a suitable period of mourning of course. Daphne: Niles? Niles: Yes my love? Daphne: When are you going to change the paper in the bottom of the bird cage, hm? I've asked you three times already! Niles: Just as soon as I get back. Niles: (in his head) Maybe when I'm gone, Her Majesty can muck out her own bird cage.
Martin: We'll be sure to get that out to you right after the first...asteroid hits the earth!
Trish: I should have guessed that everybody and his brother would want to see Vince Carter play. Martin: Not everybody. Or his brother.
Frasier: We have plenty of other candidates to interview. I'll see you on the 12th...of never!
Ana Gasteyer previously filmed an appearance as a physical therapist for "Door Jam", but that episode wound up being shelved. It was reworked and aired three months after its originally scheduled October air date, without her subplot.
Edward Hibbert returns as Gil Chesterton after being absent throughout all of Season 9.
The title refers to the song "Whistle While You Work" from Disney's "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves".
