We would have to say frasier has been the best spin off ever created, and for those who dont like the show u would have to agree the most successful spin off ever, i mean 11 seasons is huge for any show let alone a comedy, let alone a spin off,

im interested to hear what you have to say about it and any other spin offs just as good but mainly just as successful.

note: for this post we wont consider K.O.Q. a spin off, thats for debate on the K.O.Q. forums.

I agree that this was the best spin-off ever. I think it's partly because it was so well cast but even more so because it was so well conceived and well written (for example, what other group of writers could make a funny and truthful show about a recurring dream?). Humor and character development were always foremost, and neither was sacrificed for the other.

Seeing the last ever episode of frasier was sad, and i can only hope a third spin off would be made, i cant ever recall it, but the thing is we all know, it would probaly be a hude success. I am now starting a new forum in frasier about a third spin off, it will be more of an in depth forum, it will be worth reading and contributing to. I'm making it now.

The way things ended there cannot be a spin-off. With Fraiser in SF, Niles & Daphne with the baby ( they could not hold a show ) The well that charcter was perfect in this setting but nothing as a stand alone.

The last episode was bothersome though. I think Fraiser should have ended up with Roz. I hoped it would happen they would make a good couple. Her as station manager ehhh.

no, you've got it completely wrong, a third spin off of the Frasier character wouldn't include niles and daphne etc. Then it would be another season of Frasier. A new spin off as in Frasier in Chicago completely different to the normal frasier. When they started frasier was it done like cheers, no. A spin off means a different show altogether.

Yes Kelsey has made hints at a third spin - off of the Frasier character, he said it, as maybe not 2006 or 2007 but he said he would certainly like to start one over the next few years.

The best spin-off in the sense that I think it has overshadowed the original. I find Cheers now amusing at best. Frasier remains hilarious. Perhaps its secret was that it did not have a basic premise. Cheers started out as a conflict between Sam and Diane. (The secondary characters soon began contributing to the stories.) Frasier had no such limitations. It was the story of an existing character, confronted with all kinds of situations. Of course, the perfect casting of the other characters, perhaps also unique in spin-offs, was the icing on the cake.

Agreed it was the best spin-off ever, I don't even see it as a spin-off anymore. And now we have Action News to look forwad to starring Kelsey this year.

Well it was the best spin off comedy ever, IMO the best drama spin off would be Angel.

The BEST spin-off, definitely.  Only "The Jeffersons" (spun-off from "All in the Family") compares in longevity and I guess that one could also argue that "Happy Days" which was introduced in a episode of "Love American Style" also had a similar run.  But "The Simpsons", spun-off from "The Tracy Ullman Show" holds distinction of the longest running spin-off at 19 seasons and counting.
Creating a spin-off has always been a risky project and there have been a few successes but mostly failures.  Anyone remember "AfterMASH", "Flo" and "The Tortelli's"  which were DOA even though they came from VERY successful series ("M*A*S*H", "Alice" and "Cheers", respectively)

It would all depend on the success of his new show with Patricia Heaton!

I wouldn't say it's THE best spin-off but it's certainly one of the best along with NCIS and others

In my eyes I don't consider that a spin off. I do see Frasier as the best spin off, since it was just as good as Cheers, which rarely ever happens when a spin off is created.
