    not to alarm anyone, but I just read on his IMDB board that JM may be suffering from pancreatitis or pancreatic cancer. I know how iffy those boards are, so I was wondering if anyone had herd/read something on the matter...

    That is sad news, a great actor who has appeared in many movies, on a different note does anybody know what rank Martin crane was in the police force, was it ever mentioned ?

    I'd heard some rumours a while ago about his health because he'd had to pull out of some performances of a play he was doing in Chicago I think. As for if he's seriously ill I haven't read anything to confirm it

    I think I remember him saying he was a "detective" on the episode where he dates Roz's mother.

    Yes, he was sick. And lost many many pounds back then. Hope he's doing ok now.
