NBC (ended 2004)
Simon was a bit much.
Did not see any of the episodes with Cheers folks in them, but yes, I would imagine that the writers would have to dumb down Frasier a bit to make him fitin with that cast again.
I don't know whether they are considered more main than recurring but both Niles and Daphne's significant others (Mel and Donnie) were prettyawful -- can't even imagine if they'd both stayed with them!
Simon was one of my favorites - he was always so off-the-wall that I couldn't help but crack up.
My least favorite was Mel, by far. Evil, manipulative **** - that's her in a nutshell. Can't imagine what the heck Niles saw in her in the first place.
Kenny did nothing for me. His character seemed dull and un-funny. A bit annoying at times too.
I also didn't care too much for Ronee Lawrence. Don't get me wrong, I love Wendie Malick who played
her but her addition seemed forced and not all that realistic. As if they knew the end was near and they
HAD to come up with a love life for Martin before it was over. I think he should have married brassy Sherry!
All of the "Cheers" episodes bar any with Lilith are God awful! Especially when the cast of
Frasier met the cast of Cheers in Boston for Cliff Claven's retirement bash. I don't watch that
episode if I can help it. Makes me shiver.
To quote the great comic book man from the Simpson's: "Worst Episode Ever!"
Lilith has a genuine right to be part of "Frasier" as it makes sense that she would be in contact with
Frasier about Freddie etc. Besides, Bebe Neuwirth ain't hard to look at IMHO!
Got to say i hated Sherry she was so loud and annoying i wanted smash the tv.
Which is strange because Simon was loud and annoying as well but his character worked and was actually one of the funniest and best recurring characters.
Simon was the perfect foil for Frasier! He was everything that made Frasier cringe! I loved it.
Same with Sherry.
I couldn't stomach Julia Wilcox. She would be my Simon. She was so FN arrogant and b.itchy.
I loved it when Frasier kicked her ass to the curb!
Daphne's mother Gertrude. Shrill, whiny and completely annoying. Her living with Daphne and Niles utterly ruined the dynamic of some of the episodes she was in during the year she was in just about every episode.
To be fair she did provide some laughs from time to time (The Halloween prank battle with the neighbor kid and her romantic escapade with artist Mike Shaw) but she was a one note character who was used way too much.

Not to hijack this thread, but totally agreed. Hubba Hubba! Her in that black lacy number when she sleeps with Niles with those beautiful dancer's gams shown off so much. ![]()

I loved Simon. He was brilliant. Yeah he was annoying but that was the point, to again clash a character that is so not high society (and got along with Martin) with the haughtiness that is Fraiser/Niles. I loved him.
Ditto on Bebe
The one I disliked the least was Lana. She just annoyed me with the yelling and screaming and everything. I dunno I think she could have been done without.
lana would have been okay for a couple of episodes but started to get a bit annoying
i thought simon was quite funny (and he did support united which is always a plus)
I too really disliked Wendie Malick's character. She didn't seem Martin's type at all. She was much too goofy and silly, and her personality did seem very forced. She was such an unnecessary addition.
I did, however, absolutely love Simon, Bulldog, Bebe, and Lilith. They made me laugh so much!
hmm...that's a tough one...least favourite recurring guest character...
didn't really like Noel Shempsky, Julia Wilcox, Kenny Daily and to a lesser extent Bulldog
Simon Moone, Gertrude Moone were great characters imo
