About 12 minutes into the episode, the radio play begins and at Frasier's apartment, Daphne, Martin, and Eddie are listening. Eddie is plainly seen tilting his head to one side, listening intensely to the sound of Frasier's voice on the radio.
This is an allusion to the painting "Dog Looking and Listening to a phonograph" Francis Barraud of the dog Nipper with his head tilted and looking intensely at the horn of a gramophone. The picture, nickenamed "His Master's Voice" eventually became the well-known icon for RCA Records.
