    • TRIVIA (2)

      • When Roz returns to the sofa and sits down next to Frasier with her glass of champagne, the glass is nearly empty. She sets it down on the coffee table for a moment and when she picks it up again, it is full again even though Frasier has not poured any more.

      • Niles has no idea what a tractor pull is, despite taking Martin to one in "My Fair Frasier".

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Frasier: Lilith was insufferable. She's got a new boyfriend, some twenty-eight year old named Marcel. He's a contortionist with the Cirque du Soleil.
Niles: She's dating French circus folk?
Frasier: Yes. Well, he's actually perfect for Lilith. He has no apparent spine and she can wrap him around her finger.

      • (Donny has asked Martin to go on a stakeout for him in Belltown)
Niles: Belltown is, uh, sort of a sketchy neighborhood, wouldn't you say?
Martin: Oh, Niles - to you, a sketchy neighborhood is when the cheese shop doesn't have valet parking.

      • (Niles and Martin are on a stakeout)
Martin: How'd you like a little clam chowder?
        Niles: I would love some!
(Martin unscrews the thermos, takes a whiff and makes a face)
        Martin: This is clam chowder!
Niles: Well, what did you expect?
Martin: Irish Whiskey! Your mother always filled it with coffee and Irish Whiskey. We just called it clam chowder in front of you kids.
Niles: Is that why you got so mad that day I crumbled oyster crackers in your thermos?

    • NOTES (1)

    • ALLUSIONS (2)

      • Title: Hot Pursuit

The episode title shares the same name as 1987 Comedy "Hot Pursuit".

      • The third scene title is, "FORGET IT MARTY, IT'S BELLTOWN". This is a direct reference to the 1974 film Chinatown, in which the character Lawrence Walsh (Joe Mantell) says to Jake Gittes (Jack Nicholson), "Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown".
